Lots of separate rooms and a big 'ballroom' Lots of different activities for Seniors, some table games, but there are various physical activity classes also. Movie once a month is nice. Knitting, chess, bridge, mah-jong, Zumba, dancing, bingo, TV bowling, ping-pong, pool tables, Computer center. (I was a volunteer in installing Windows software, as well as teaching some classes and organizing the classes). Note: Some classes require a fee. And special holiday/occasions/acts are constantly on the schedule. Various Travel tours crop up. Food in cafeteria has improved quite a bit since the new chef arrived on the scene some months ago, and for $4 a meal, it's pretty good. You do need to sign up. Only comment is that I wish it was start at 11:30 as all the literature states, not 11:40+. One other comment is that I wish the 'next month' Gazette would show up around the last 2 days of the month, instead of having to wait until the actual month itself starts. Location is excellent with the TO Library on one side, and Teen Center on the other. And behind Goebel and Library are parks that also have special scheduled activities or for picnic. I highly recommend that if you are live around this area, come in and pick up a brochure on what activities there are.

The playground is insect/garden themed and is absolutely beautiful. My son loved the large slide and the "ant hill." If it was in the building, that would also be quite a far trek for little person especially when they announce they need to use the restroom. It's pretty far from our usual hangouts, but it's a nice playground and because of this visit - I was able to discover other playgrounds designed by the same company that's closer to us. Members are clearly emboldened by the poorly enforced rules to feel entitled to encroach on personal space. I've been a long-time member and raised my kids with the YMCA--I never taught them to take someone else's lane or intrude on others. Period! I recently canceled my membership. The pool rules are a mess--people swim two or three abreast, kids with snorkeling gear are in the main pool, and management ignores complaints. On top of that, the pool is often closed or unavailable, and the hours of operation aren't suitable for working members. If you want a safe, relaxing swim, this is not the place. YMCA needs to enforce rules, revise lane policies, and improve access immediately. From the reviews, I see that the other members are clearly frustrated too.

My daughter did the full 3-week session of Camp Helping Hands this summer and loved it! Who would…read morehave thought that a camp could make waste-water management and beach clean-up into fun fieldtrips? She also adored visiting and learning about local senior citizen centers -- cannot wait until she is old enough to volunteer at one. And, the final week on animals -- therapeutic horse facility and farm for abused/neglected animals -- really touched her heart. This is a fabulous camp to send your child to if you want her/him to grow up and be a person who makes the world a better place.

Communication with the doctor and home health didn't happen because I didn't know or convey side effects to the following: Do not use newfangled digital machines on everything! They are not tried and true and nothing like old fashioned methods. I talked, conveying concern to family members these were not good..turned, souring making injuries and a health trip to the hospital after home health had to remedy streaks from wounds! Tell your doctor they've done studies. Just say that was a bad move. Let's not try that again causing streaks! Next, I provided, asking to cover one of the wounds with a sticky band aid on hand! Bad mistake for home health because it went beyond blistering and caused panic! After getting The Wound Pros they said do it one way and I forgot and no one fully understood the potential of the wounds again! But it happened! Lastly, and no one could have anticipated and individuals don't need to know the details of repeated hospital admissions and rehab -- even a gentle alternative was too much for the wounds but through home health they got this patient moving again.
