I've worked with many photographers in the past and I've never had a bad experience. Nor did I felt this strongly to spend my time and write a bad review, but I felt that other consumers deserve to hear my experience. His pictures and prices are good? Yes, but be prepare to deal with his curt and unprofessional responses to your questions, being rushed through a photo session, and forgetting that he even made an appointment with you. First off, we made an appointment through email, then on the morning of the photo shoot, I sent several texts, of which none did he replied until I called. His excuse was that he was in the middle of another photo session. Even when he responded, he made many excuses for not making the appointment until I showed him proof, even then he gave no apology. In the end he chose to keep the appointment; it was a relieve because I would not have time to book a session with another photographer in time for the holiday if he had refused. When we arrived, the photo shoot was incredibly rushed. It was a family portrait, we had a 78 year old woman with us, and all of us pretty much had to run from place to place on a rocky trail around the nature park. He even dared to tell us, "I'm trying to finish this as fast as possible" at the beginning of the photo session. It was so rushed to the fact that he even forgot to ask for his photo session fee until I spoke up about it. Even after all of this, I did not wanted to leave a bad review since I admit the pictures came out well until today I asked for a better quality file for ONE picture. He refused because he only allows us to use his service to print. In one aspect, it's understandable for his refusal, but his response was curt and very rude. So I emailed back listing my displeasure about my experience, from which he takes it as a taunt and responded back again in a rude manner, and THAT was my last straw. I will gladly forward the conversation to anyone who would like to see it Words of advice: for a photographer to be competitive, it's more than just taking good pictures but also provide good customer service and treat your customer with respect. Even if you don't agree with what they're asking, you can still respond in a kind manner. I met Ethan at a bridal show and I was instantly drawn to his work. He's not pushing at all like some act so desperate for your business. I end up booking Ethan and chose a package with him after I brought my fiancé to meet him. The package we chose, we got a free engagement session. His prices are awesome. On the spot, I asked Ethan if we could do the shoot in Sedona since that is where I was proposed to. He said absolutely! Day of Shoot: Ethan rode up with us and it was nice ride getting to know him and perhaps get a feel for us as well. I'm a very particular person and turns out Ethan is too when it comes to his work & it shows! ! He brought some lighting & equipment. We had such a great luck with the weather and the sunset was AMAZING! He knew the best spots to go. He even showed me some of the pics as the day went by. I got more and more excited as we drove from spot to spot. Gave us time to change outfits fix makeup. The pics turned out SO GOOD! I'm having issues picking out the best ones for our Save the Dates. He carefully edited them in a timely manner. Made them easily accessible to us on his website which is very user friendly. Ethan is very professional and very easy to work with. You have to let him do his thing cuz believe me, he knows what he is doing! I can't wait till the big day! I have full trust in him! The only advice I can give from my experience and this goes with any photographer as a female is bring another girl with you so she can help fix frizz and help with shiny skin or smudges.....it happens between with kissing poses then facing the camera. Wow is all I can say! My fiancée and I first saw Ethan's work at the Bridal Show a few weeks ago and were immediately taken with his work. It has the natural, candid, and emotional quality that we were looking for. We shot our engagement photos today in what could have been a potentially difficult interior location with time constraints. It could not have gone any better. Neither my fiancée nor I are particularly comfortable in front of the camera but at no time did either of us feel uncomfortable, self conscious, or forced in any way. We all but forgot Ethan was there and at the same time he was able to evoke very natural responses while working very quickly, getting hundreds of shots with a wardrobe change, in a wide range of architectural environments. All in a relatively brief period of time. The few shots I saw on the camera's screen were absolutely gorgeous using a combination of natural light and flash photography. We cannot wait to see our final images. July 5 Update - We received our images today and they are absolutely stunning. We both had goosebumps looking over the pictures and they convey a depth of emotion that makes you stop and take notice. We could not be happier with our pictures. We hired Ethan after finding his groupon and reviewing his online portfolio. He offered to save money if I directly booked with him instead of groupon, but in the end I paid him what the Groupon displayed. I'm a very down to Earth person myself and while Ethan wasn't formal in communication, I felt less nervous knowing I wasn't speaking to someone up tight. We have never done professional photos before and Ethan said he moved fast which we loved! He walked us through each pose and communicated every shot he wanted to do. In the end, he asked if we saw anything we wanted to do and took a little stroll to capture shots my fiance wanted!
