Pricey bar (what's new, Geneva?) but clean, roomy, good service and they serve food! (mostly flatbreads and charcuterie) the theme is what really gets me, though. The bar is named after Mary Shelley- the creator of Frankenstein. Mary conceived the novel while visiting lac leman- legend has it she was inspired while looking out at the saleve, shrouded with mists and mystery.
Whatever the case, this bar pays tribute to the Frankenstein monster in a very classy way- with chic posters, stencils and tasteful murals. The lounge music brings a happy vibe to the bar, and the young clientele of Plainpalais really make this a busy place on a clear day. Luckily, there is ample seating in the bar and even a back patio for smokers- making it fairly easy to claim a seat here compared to other bars in Plainpalais. Although the drinks and food are pricey, it's definitely worth a stop if in the area! read more
