This could be one of my favorite places in Geneva, but sadly there is a lot missing to itThe Yvette is housed in a nice back street, has an appealing interior and a pretty nice terrasse. They offer tapas and wine and are well located in one of the nicest parts of Geneva, Eaux-Vives. All of this sure smells like a lot of potential for a great bar and eatery, but there are two major drawbacks: The service sucks and the food is not good. I went there several times and it was always the same: You wait ages until one of the two waiters/bar tenders comes to your table (note: the place is not really large). Once arrived, you have to ask him for the menu because he forgot to bring it to your table. So you wait again a while until he returns with the menu. Throughout the evening, it is not easy to catch the waiter's attention to ask for more wine or something else because he likes to hide behind the bar and pretend that he is on vacation. You order, and then they bring you a tiny plate of what they call tapas. I didnt find the dishes tasty nor nicely presented. The portions are very small in relation to the prices and as a tapas bar, the range of tapas that you can choose from is fairly small. Apart from the nice atmosphere, I could only name the good wine that they offer as the only positive thing that comes to my mind. All in all, great potential but not a place that left a great impression on me to make me return there. read more
