This cafe was full but we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and efficient. Though my German is not great, the server was patient and we met in the middle as he spoke some English. To my delight, they were able to seat me right away on their gorgeous outdoor patio. I was a little confused at first but soon realized that you actually go inside to place your order and then they bring the food out to you. I ordered a glass of white wine and the shrimp salad. The wine was delicious and perfectly complimented the salad. The salad was good. It was a little small so I wish I had ordered something else because it didn't satisfy my hunger but it was super tasty! I loved the gorgeous views provided on the patio. Everything was just so nice. The staff were great. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Trier!

The schnitzel, while served as two pieces versus one giant piece, was decently (but not perfectly) executed. Crispy, somewhat tender meat (could have been more tender) and a very flavorful sauce with fresh mushrooms. The spätzle was soft and buttery. Almost melted in my mouth. Can't go wrong with a nice Pilsner to wash it all down.

Schlemmerland mit Genuss - Fleischerei Stephan Marx Open early and that evening until 10pm. The wurst are excellent slow grilling through the day but my favorite is the Frikadellen. They offer it plain with mustard, with cheese or with salat in the middle. Whenever I am in Trier I find my self here just about everyday for a quick delicious bite at a great value.
