Then the skin peels and cuticles get bad. (not to mention it hurts) - IF THEY WOULD JUST PUT SPF SUNBLOCK ON THE CUSTOMER'S HANDS BEFORE PUTTING THEM UNDER THE UV LIGHT- THIS WOULD ELIMIATE THAT ISSUE- We may think that because it is only one minute under the light( 3 separate times, base coat-light, color-light-clear top coat-light) it is not a big deal, but the light is so much closer to our skin than it would be if we were lying in a tanning bed... and even the slightest exposure can cause skin damage- so why not Be On The Safe Side and use the SPF??I think it is an easy solution they could be the first to do it and show they really care about their customers The salon itself is always clean and the ladies are very friendly. They take their time and do a really nice job. My Nails always look perfect. I did notice though that they use the same cuticle trimmer from customer to customer without sterilizing it first. It is metal so maybe could be sprayed down before each use. Same with the foot scraper- no cleaning in between.. They give you an awesome neck massage after each manicure which sets them apart I think. While I do love this place - as it is one of the best I have been to- I wish they (and a lot of other nail spas) would pay more attention to sanitation to prevent infection and disease- and be sure to sterilize tools after every single use. I looked up Dr. Taub and was excited to see she was right in my backyard at Advanced Dermatology. I called to make an appointment and they told me she wasn't seeing new patients for at least the next year. Never deterred I called their other location in Lincolnshire and they fit me in for a consultation later that month. During the consultation I met with Dr. Taub's lovely and very informative assistant and then Dr. Taub herself. They gave a recommendation for filler (which I've always been afraid of, but figured worth a shot) and scheduled me in the Glencoe office for a few weeks later. Apparently she is only in Glencoe on Thursdays, which is why it can be tough to get an appointment there. Appointment day arrived. I was a little scared of the pain, but figured it couldn't be worse than childbirth. Thanks to Dr. Taub and her amazing staff it didn't hurt at all. They also blow cold air on your face during the process, which felt really good after being outside on a very hot day. I left a little sore with very minimal bruising...and could already notice a big difference within 5 minutes. Dr. Taub didn't use all the filler i had purchased because didn't think i needed it and said the under eye area is very sensitive, but scheduled me for a quick follow up next month to see if i needed more. It was a very quick, painless and successful appointment. I was so impressed with Dr. Taub and the entire staff that I plan to go there for other cosmetic dermatology needs in the future.

Rushed bare top coat instead of what I paid for. Went back the next day just to get it finished properly and got interrogated by a staff member with a nasty attitude instead of an apology. Asked for a sharp shape -- they only do almond, no matter how many times I repeated myself. Asked TEN TIMES to reinforce my nails since they were long and I was traveling. Ignored. Nine days later, two nails have already snapped -- one bleeding -- mid-trip, at the wedding, because they have zero understanding of nail structure. $180, two wasted appointments, zero customer service, zero skill. Go anywhere else. UPD: 11 days and 3 nails did break bleeding. My travel was ruined, I was in constant pain. Zero customer service. Zero product knowledge. Zero respect for their clients' time, plans, or money. Save yourself the $180 and the heartbreak.
