My body was in rough shape and I was completely overwhelmed. Jennifer's warm, curious, and professional approach made her office the perfect landing place for the start of what became an incredible healing story. Not only did Jennifer support me with multiple healing modalities, but she also helped me build a much-needed care team around me. It was the start of what has been a life-changing experience. Since the initial first year or so of healing work, I am so grateful to say I have been thriving for eight years. It's hard to put into words how much Jennifer means to me and what an incredible support she was and continues to be. I see Jenn now for routine prevention/overall wellness maintenance and am always so thankful I went. Her treatments are gentle and in-depth and I leave feeling better than I do from any other kind of spa/wellness treatment. Not all acupuncture is the same and Jennifer is an expert with a kind and generous approach.

MD Pain, also known as Metro Denver Pain, or MD Sport, Spine, and Pain Management, has been through…read moremany changes since 2017 when I first was a patient. Since I have been injured in 5 car crashes that were not my fault, I suffer from crippling constant pain. At first I found MD pain helpful. They were responsive to my needs and the Dr. Huser listened to me. But that started to change. MD Pain began to use Nurses who were licensed to write prescriptions, (NPs) and those NPs began to change my medications. This resulted in complications for me that were very serious! I had to call the Doctor on off hours in emergencies, and get help! I even had to go the ER! Then they closed some offices. Then COVID hit. MD Pain switched me to online appts which frankly were more convenient for me, because I didn't have to worry about being late due to traffic. Finally, this year, I was on a good medication regime and working with a good NP who understood my medication needs and wouldn't change them. Then I was informed that Online appts were cancelled. And I would have to go back to in-person appts. I was not informed that the office or clinic would be moving. I have a long history of sever migraine headaches. And I take medications to control them. But then in October I got a terrible headache and missed my appointment because of the headache. The NP I had been working with had left MD Pain and the new NP refused to fill my medication because I missed my appt. even though I had been a patient for 5 years! After 5 days of this terrible headache, I was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Room at Porter's. Since I had just signed a new "Pain Contract" I asked the ER doctor to call my Dr. at MD Pain and ask what medications I could have. (This was after Porter's had me waiting 4 hours). After 5 hours Porter's dismissed me with NO treatment at all. MD Pain told them: "We need her to come in". The reason was later explained to me by "Libby" at MD Pain, that I supposedly had missed a UA. Which I had not. I had just submitted one that was clean in September! I continued to be bedridden with a terrible headache for 4 more days. When I finally recovered enough to talk on the phone, I called MD Pain, and asked for an appointment for my medication refill. I was given an appointment to speak with Ashley Vanderjaght the next day by phone as an "exception". and she was not nice. Instead of apologizing for giving the Hospital incorrect information, she asserted that the reason she did not give me my medication before was that it would have been "6 days too early" and she stretched back into August to make her argument. Although I told her this was incorrect, she would not be persuaded. So I just came right out and asked if she was going to fill my medication or not? I did get my medication, only to be left in tears. This month I was denied my appt for being late after the MD Pain moved to new location. After asking how I was going to get my refill, the person behind the desk made a phone call and explained to me that she was getting my balance. I still asked her how I was going to get my medication refill. She came up with a small balance and asked me to pay a certain amount. I told her I pay would half of the pay half of the balance, as it was a small balance, and I just made a large payment in September. She was not satisfied with this, and threatened me with collections. I thought this was ridiculous. I had just made a large payment in September and I had not gotten a statement reflecting this and I so told her. She was not deterred. She stated that if I did not pay the demanded amount, she would not schedule my appointment. I asked her position and she stated "Office Manager". I realized at this point that MD Pain had changed so much, they could no longer meet my needs. I suppose if you can get past the Office Manager, don't have to deal with Ashley Vanderjaght, and you can see one of the nice MDs, you might be OK at MD Pain, but I didn't want to risk it anymore.

Since moving from NJ, finding a good PM doctor has been a challenge. That was until the other day…read morewhen MD Pain called me back. The only reason for 4 stars was the week delay between me calling and leaving a message of my interest, to them calling me back. I had all but given up hope on finding a PM clinic. So many things called were private pay and exorbitant amounts just to see a doc. MD Pain took my insurance, and the phone call was very pleasant & thorough. I was sent a packet to have filled out before my visit, and when I arrived the staff was very pleasant & professional. Dr. Checa spent over an hour with me & I cant say enough good things about him. He, the service I received and the day of experience was all 5 stars! If you need to find a great doc, where prescribing narcotics doesn't have to be your only choice, then you need to see them!

I have a long history with MD Pain, starting in 2013 after an accident when I started seeing Dr…read more Kevin Smith. The doctors are amazing and are the reason I stayed as long as I did. However, the consistent difficulty dealing with the front office staff became increasingly frustrating to deal with so I left. I returned in 2022 after being told things had changed. Dr. Merkow was helpful, extremely knowledgeable and understanding of my unique medical situation. However, the management (specifically Office Manager Dava Thomas and recently new manager Daniel Li) maintain a toxic environment where administrators override medical needs. After four years as a consistent monthly patient with no major issues, I received a sudden "probationary letter" in February 2026. This was never discussed with me face-to-face at my monthly appointments or by my provider whom I see monthly and understands my unique health challenges. When I asked for clarification, I was publicly interrogated and scolded by Daniel Li regarding my attendance and private medical matters in a humiliating, dehumanizing way. Following Mr. Li's behavior, I emailed Dava Thomas. My concerns were met with excuses, and despite not breaking a single probationary condition, I was abruptly discharged via email for "attendance patterns." In her letter, she claimed my missed appointments were "not related to my medical condition," despite not being qualified to make that determination and never inquiring about my specific disabilities or reviewing the accommodations I requested. She essentially made a medical determination with zero qualification or documentation to back it up. Their internal records are a mess of contradictions. For example, on 1/9/2026, their ledger marked me as a "No Show," yet they billed Medicare for a face-to-face visit and issued my refills that same day. At MD Pain, you cannot receive a monthly supply without being physically present. Their records are either negligently incorrect or they are billing for visits that never happened while simultaneously charging patients no-show fees. Furthermore, they have me marked as a "No Show" on dates when I proactively called for guidance due to my medical situation; on those calls, I was explicitly told by staff to cancel and reschedule without any mention of fees or disciplinary procedures. To then use those exact instances as grounds for probation and discharge is deceptive and professionally negligent. The office's preoccupation with its online reputation is disturbing. During a routine checkout, I was rudely questioned by Dava Thomas about whether I had left a review. It felt less like a request for feedback and more like an interrogation to see if I was responsible for recent negative comments. Patients here report being threatened with dismissal for honest feedback. It is telling that the negative reviews here are detailed and specific, while the generic more positive reviews seem curated to hide the reality of how patients are "processed." In the business of healthcare, especially pain management, it is abhorrent to treat vulnerable populations in such an abusive and dismissive manner. I have documentation to back up all my experiences.

Maimed, Mangled & Mutilated! - How MD Pain and its Lone Tree Surgery Center injured me and refused…read moreto aid my recovery. If any readers are consulting with MD Pain or scheduled for a procedure at Lone Tree Surgery Center, BE FOREWARNED!!!: they're all considerate and hospitable until something goes wrong - then they disappear behind their corporate "firewalls" leaving you with your pain and misery, to fend for yourself. In October of last year, I underwent surgery at Lone Tree Surgery Center owned and operated by MD Pain. After the surgery, something hard smacked my head fracturing a tooth, breaking my jaw, and giving me a bleeding mouth wound. When confronted about this incident, MD Pain pawned me off to Lone Tree Surgery Center's administrator who pawned me off to their insurer who then pawned me off to their law firm who smugly claimed my wounds were due to pre-existing conditions and therefore not worth an investigation. I should note that 6 consultations with dentists, physicians and an oral surgeon, plus 3 Xrays and an MRI all confirmed my wounds were due to traumatic head injury. A must worse condition followed - 15 months and counting of painful neck spasms, hard muscle cramps and severe headaches every-single-friggin'-day! So I'm initiating a medical malpractice claim against MD Pain and the surgery center and using whatever means at my disposal to spread the word about their nefarious pretense of patient care. Hah!
