Overdue review…read more Upper Village Dental Care is a great place to visit for all your dental needs. My first few visits was with dental hygienist Shawna( sorry if I misspelled it). She was absolutely phenomenal! I returned because of her. She then went on maternity leave and Ashley took over the appointments. I was surprised, she was also amazing! Both of them have a great personality and did a great job. There's TV's on the ceiling, the place seems very clean. Dr. Peter helped me out with my remaining appointments and although I was nervous, he did a great job. I highly recommend this place. And who doesn't want to do a yelp check in for a free teeth whitening gel?

Highway 7 westbound, just past Valleymede Dr, had the right lane closed for construction. I was in the right lane. It was the usual driving-construction decision: Should I merge to the left or do a shortcut? I elected to do the latter. It meant that I would be cutting through this plaza to find a side street to get to Palgong. I have been to this plaza a handful of times. This brief cut-through move was my third. I didn't know what the name of this plaza was until Google Maps said that I had been here before. Cool! I have always known Doncrest Market Place as being the plaza with the McDonald's. Within the past year, I finally visited it. It's interesting in that the drive-thru is covered partway through the journey and cuts through two buildings. I can't remember seeing a fast food drive-thru setup like this one. The design is fascinating. Frankly, I have only been to two businesses at this plaza. McDonald's was my most recent stop. I have also been to Mamma's Pizza. That visit must have been roughly two years ago by now. I oddly did not get pizza. I ended up getting wings and veal parmigiana with spaghetti. I noticed driving through this plaza that Scotiabank is the first business that you see when you hang a right from Highway 7 heading westbound. I hope to check it out when I need to withdraw funds down the road. I saw a pharmacy, a vape store, a Daisy Mart, and bb.q Chicken. The latter eatery was new to me. Parking was a bit crazy when I was here at around 4:30 pm. There were two vans parked by the curb, which made driving in the lane to ultimately exit the plaza narrow and more challenging. There were plenty of parking spots, so I'm not sure why they couldn't park there. They didn't seem to be offloading huge heavy items. Well, I learned that this plaza has a name. I'll likely still call it the plaza where McD's is because it's easier to remember. (202)

It is anchored by longstanding establishments Omei restaurant, Kum Hong BBQ restaurant, and McDonald's. I've dropped by this plaza a few times, particularly to visit the McDonald's with family. More recently, bb.q Chicken has joined this plaza. There is a good amount of parking in this shopping centre. Beware of the traffic flow in the plaza which can be impacted by cars exiting the McDonald's drive thru lane.

I try to see the good in establishments, pointing out where businesses can improve and what they did exceptional. Today I have the pleasure of writing about a journey to obtain something personal. An experience that is rarely experienced in life, and achievement of something I have wanted for a long time with little to no effort or pain on my behalf. It is rare to provide a review like this, and I hope you take the time to read my journey and appreciate what I went through. When I was 11 years old, my little brother and I got into an argument, and he threw a glass at me (kids right?). The glass shattered 80% of me right front tooth so that I could spend the next 30 years having people stare at it and make me feel subconscious about it. I would have to go every 3-5 years to the dentist to have them rebuild the tooth with a material that always chipped, would get discoloured with coffee, not to mention that for over 20 of those years, I was a heavy smoker (I have quit now!) I even had children at my kids' school call me "Yellow Tooth" to my face! It was quite humiliating. But every time I spoke to a professional, I was told the same thing: "We can re-build the tooth or put a false tooth in - one being affordable, the other being super expensive". I couldn't afford a false tooth... nor did I want to go through that. So, I would just have it rebuilt every few years and assumed that was going to be routine for the rest of my life. Until I walked into Dentistry on Thornhill Woods. They literally changed my life. Dr. Kent is an incredible dentist. He is very warm and even keel. He too has a great smile, and is very confident in his skills. He is a super competent dentist, and is very talented in what he does. He loves to take charge of the situation, and you can tell he instinctively knows what the right thing to do is. Most doctors try to rush you out the door so they can get to the next patient and make more money, but I never once got this sense from Dr. Kent. He is a methodical man that likes to take his time and do things right the first time, and you can tell that he instills this ethic in his staff as they are all patient, great listeners and are never in a rush to get you out the door. Nancy and Dr. Kent are really a dynamic duo that are hard to contend with. They always make me feel welcome, ensure I am comfortable and that I am an important client to the clinic. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I rarely do this, but I give Dentistry on Thornhill Woods a 5+ Star rating. They truly are perfect in every way possible. I've never been asked before if I was doing ok during any of the procedures at any dental office until I came here. They also tell you ahead of time what to expect. I was impressed with the care they give. I look forward to going here and I highly recommend it to anyone. I love how they have massage chairs, you can watch TV while getting your teeth cleaned and if you want, you can get a paraffin hand treatment while they work on you. While you wait in the waiting room, you can have a homemade biscotti, coffee, tea or water. I usually grab a biscotti on the way out. It's super clean and everything is high tech. You will not regret going here. It's truly an experience and I wish all dentist offices could uphold such high standards.
