My girl friend recommended their service since San Miguel de Allende is ~1.5 hours away from the Leon Airport (BJX). I stayed in San Miguel for 5 days in September 2020, right in the middle of the Covid pandemic.
Booking the service is as simple as sending an email, and the responses from Daniel are lightening fast! Also, the drivers accepted credit cards (even American Express!), which is super convenient. On my first trip from Leon airport to San Miguel, my driver was Juan Carlos, who was waiting near the exit with a sign with my name. Although he spoke limited English, he understood me and was able to answer my questions. If you provide your address ahead of time in your email, you probably don't need to say anything to your driver! I did make sure to confirm the address, though, by writing it down in my phone and showing it to Juan Carlos. He wore a mask, and I was impressed with his navigation - he didn't use GPS the entire time! I'm so reliant on GPS, and all my Uber and Lyft drivers use GPS, so I thought it was noteworthy that Juan Carlos didn't need GPS. There were many narrow roads and turns in San Miguel, and my destination was up a steep hill!
I got a bit nervous waiting for my driver on return trip back to the airport because he was about 3-4 minutes late. This would be no big deal to me during the day, but Eduardo was scheduled to arrive at 3:30am (super early, and there are NO Uber drivers available in San Miguel de Allende at that time!) I called Daniel at 3:30am and he reassured me that Eduardo was one my way - I felt relieved knowing that they didn't forget about me. Eduardo was helpful with my luggage and friendly as we started our drive. He wore a mask, and while the drive between San Miguel and Leon Airport consists of many twists and turns throughout the countryside, Eduardo drove very safely, making sure to blink his high beans as we rounded sharp corners (to warn oncoming traffic, if any).
One recommendation I would make is perhaps TransportArte providing to clients the name and number of their assigned driver, so that clients can call in case of any questions. Also, a quick email the day before to confirm the reservation would be reassuring.
As a female traveling solo, I get a bit anxious, especially on these long drives through deserted areas. However, I would use TransportArte again and again. They are super professional, considerate, and safe. Thank you Daniel, Juan Carlos, and Eduardo! See/talk to you all again soon :)
