I would always buy food here when my dad goes to get gas for our car. They greet you with a warm welcome that makes you feel really comfortable, the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The place is very clean but they have wet floor signs a lot since they really clean the place frequently. Would recommend for gas, and for food.

I frequent the stores off 130th Ave. S.E. so I go to the Safeway Gas Bar for convenience. The one thing that I dislike about this location, is that when you pay at the pump and are finished filling up the pump tell's you to go get your receipt inside. It defeats the whole concept of pay at the pump IMO.

The posted prices are usually within a few cents per liter of each other, but Centex is regularly the cheapest. The level of HAPPY that scoring the cheapest gas along my communte brings me is of epic proportions. Seriously. On Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, the price at the pump is 2 cents per liter cheaper than the posted price. They don't just adjust the posted price on these days either - the posted price is STILL lower than other stations. But where the REAL BIG savings come in is if your car, like mine, requires premium (91+ octane). Some of the other big guys (*cough* Esso *cough*) get sneaky and only post their price for regular gas. When you get to the pump, you realize that premium is $0.15+/L more than regular. Ohhhh SNAP. At Centex, premium is always $0.10/L more than regular. Always. So, lets get out our calculators. $0.05+/L more for premium, plus $0.02/L on Wed / Sat / Sun, plus having a regularly posted price a few cents cheaper than other stations.... adds up to at least $0.10 per liter. You might be thinking "10 cents? who cares?". WELL. Stats Canada says that the average Canadian drives 18,000km per year. At average fuel economy, the 10 cents savings will quickly add up to $200 per year! It will be even more if you drive an older car or drive more than average. Moral of my rant: Start filling up at a nearby Centex. Take the $200+ you save and treat yourself to a nice dinner at one of the fine establishments in town. It's good it's cheap because the service is lacking. The douche bags behind the counter always seem too wrapped up in their own douchebaggery to know what's going on around them. So, when you enter, just toss the cash on the counter and get the hell out of there. Still cheap, though, which makes it worth going to.

I'm overstimulated at this point so I ask him for Doritos instead. He walks over to the cheetos which are right next to the Doritos (honest case of miscommunication) and he points to a bag, I shake my head. he points to a different bag of cheetos and I shake my head again. we do this a few more times till I decide to point at the bag I want (I try not to point like that, I know it's rude but I was overwhelmed) and hes following my direction for a minute until he he gives up and grabs a random bag of cheetos, I shake my head, but he brings it to the counter and scans it before gesturing for me to pay. I wanted to grab two more things and I really don't like cheetos, but at this point i was standing in the rain after being at the gym and had been doing this for a good ten minute so I pay and leave. it was a really stressful experience and I ended up buying something I didn't want because the guy got frustrated (I get that it was stressful for him but never in the two years that I've lived next to the gas station had he gotten an order right and I am start to feel like it's more than just miscommunication as every other person at that gas station is so sweet and patient and always gets it at least mostly right).

Having a Macs as the convenience store is a plus if looking for snacks late night...big store. It's nice to pay at the pump to save time, but when your receipt doesn't print and you have to go wait in line at the register...it's a bit annoying. The staff don't like to talk much and are more interested in ignoring you but the store is super clean and well organized. Would be nice to have a Petro Car wash.
