It's so fantastic to see her personal growth by building confidence, seeing her determination, focus, and respect for others. She is now 1st Dan black belt six years later and still going strong. My daughter always looked forward to each class and tournament. She especially loves weapons. I highly recommend quest Martial Arts. All the instructors have been so amazing. Shout out to all the instructors: Master Lawrence, Master Gunther, Master Moreno, Mr. Nunn, Mr, Edwards, and last but not least a special shout out to our own Mr. Spencer who has been with her from the beginning. Now my 7 year old son is interested in joining. If you are looking for a place that will bring positive change Quest is the place.

The classes are an amazing workout, they've given me real self-defense skills, and they've helped me build confidence. And now that I'm a mother of two, I really appreciate the chance to spend time with other adults! Mr. Edwards has a genuine gift for working with young kids--patient, energetic, and somehow magically able to keep a whole room on track. And Mr. Seah's classes are structured, engaging, and always a blast! Quest is so amazing, that we recently enrolled our eldest daughter In less that a year, she has become more confident, coordinated, and focused. She even brings the respect and discipline home. Hearing a tiny "Yes ma'am!" at bedtime is adorable Quest has become a second home for our family.

The senseis are so devoted and take the discipline seriously. If you want your child to be challenged and grow, this is the place but if you're the kind of parent who wants a trophy for just showing up, this is not it. The senseis are disciplined, honest, respectful and fair. My son has learned alot of skills and values from VMAC. The prices are also reasonable compared to other places. We also love the families and have created good friendships and a community. My son even loves showing up by himself. I no longer have to remind him. Thank you sensei Eiko, Taichiro, Manny and Jon! You're doing amazing work!

Awesome place! The…read moreplace has sparked a love for martial arts in me. I started last summer and have since become a regular in Karate and Budoshin Ju-Jitsu. I've fallen in love with martial arts so much I now try places and styles all over the greater LA area. That being said, this place is one if not the best and where I keep going back to despite other options. Even though I also train in kickboxing at another studio I prioritize my training here first. Lots of classes for all age groups and styles. I don't train in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu but I can tell you the instructors and students are great there and everyone has a great time. I train primarily in Shotokan Karate which is the most popular form of Karate in the world, taught by instructors who have experience competing in national and world tournaments and winning. Make me no mistake, this is not a McDojo that is just glorified day-care like some other places. This place is the real deal where you or your children will learn real martial arts and how to fight proper. But, in a safe and controlled environment where injuries aren't that common. There are adults who train here in addition to having their own children train here. In both BJJ and Karate, the instructors have also trained previously under some of the most influential people in these martial arts. Budoshin is the other martial art I train in here which is a contemporary style of Japanese Ju-Jitsu, it is acknowledged officially by the Japanese Ju-Jitsu association. Unless you count Waza this martial art doesn't involve sparring and is the most self-defense focused martial art. This style focuses mainly on joint-locks and similar moves for non-lethal take downs, also moves that are prohibited in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu. Many techniques are controlled drills on compliant attackers. All this considered if we did do full on sparring people would actually get hurt so there is more control and no sparring. Things like eye-gouging is taught here that would obviously not be allowed or utilized in a competitive sport setting. Unlike BJJ and Karate this is only for teenagers and older, no pre-teens allowed. There was a time where Kali was offered but was discontinued due to lack of interest. Kali is a Filipino martial art with a focus knife-flows, stick fighting, and in a nutshell, blade combatitives. If you are interested in it, the instructor Nick still teaches for free on Saturday's at a park and you can meet him here since he is a student of BJJ.

I went in on the 9th of this month to try Pilates for the first time in a very long time. Walked into an empty studio and it was only her and I. I was a bit surprised that there were no other students there and I even told her. So basically it was a one on one session that started at 5:30pm. Alizul was very good at her job for only being there since middle of May. Took her time for me to follow her lead and instructions. The pace level was also great! They offer classes which include the following: Yoga, Pilates, Kyudo, Tai Chi, Laido (sword drawing), for adults, children, teens and seniors. When I walked in, Alizul made me sign a waiver for liability purposes and few other forms. Really enjoyed her class, technique, and style. Lee, who is the owner of this studio, has over 4 decades of experience in marshal arts. I didn't meet her personally, but later she sent me a text message apologizing for one of their instructors by the name of Keri. We were on our way out and Keri had a class coming in. We didn't take any of her time, but she was rude and unprofessional by saying "we have a class right now" I truly think she was having a senior moment or a bad day. They take all method of payments, has a gender neutral restrooms, street and private lot parking space. The class for an hour was $20.00 which was FANTASTIC!! Studio was super clean and fully equipped with all the amenities that you need for your classes. Thank you Lee, Alizul, and North Valley Aikikai. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested of taking any one of their classes. If I lived near by, I would become a regular member.
