Update: The office manager called and said the MA could've "forgotten" or "not notice" her mask was below her nose and that they work 12 hr shifts. Maybe that's a flaw with staffing/ medical system if you are overworking your employee. After 2 years of a pandemic and rise in omicron cases, healthcare workers should set the standard. I am well aware of the long hours they work, but this is the bare minimum (proper mask wearing) I'm asking for because LIVES are at stake. Rather than giving banal excuses for reckless behavior, perhaps be betrer at taking accountability.

I have filed a formal complaint with the NCDOJ, NCDOI, and North Carolina Medical Board against Dr…read more Patricia Matheis and Wake Forest Dermatology for repeated questionable billing practices, misfiling of insurance claims, and potentially unethical patient care. Over the past year, claims have been submitted months--sometimes more than a year--after services, often billed at the highest levels and with incorrect diagnostic codes, leading to improper denials or inflated balances. Charges have at times not matched services performed, and the office has been unresponsive or delayed in providing requested billing details and records. The physician has made alarming and seemingly unsupported medical statements followed by recommendations for additional visits and procedures without clear clinical justification. In addition, I have had a credit balance on my account for several months, and despite numerous written and verbal requests for a refund, I have received no response. These actions have caused financial hardship, confusion, and loss of trust. I look forward to taking this business to court in the near future. For all looking for good dermatology, I recommend Wake Skin Cancer Center in Wake Forest.

She diagnosed me with cancer on my right temple and did 2 extractions and sent them to her pathology lab. They did not diagnose correctly and after spending $1,000 out of pocket expense, I felt that she misdiagnosed and the wound never got better after several months. I finally decided to go to a local dermatologist in my area and, much to my surprise, the cancer was still there. I now have to have a Mohs surgery to dig out what this incompetent dermatologist was not able to diagnose correctly. ** I would never recommend this dermatologist and her practice to anyone ever again. If you ever decide to use her services, then you are crazy. She is an incompetent doctor and her practice is all about the "money" and not about your Well being.
