I came to Mary Gold through my acupuncturist. I am very big on holistic medicine and truly believe…read moreour bodies are powerful and capable of healing when given the right support. I had been doing acupuncture and chiropractic work, which helped calm my system, but there were still deeper areas that just were not releasing. My acupuncturist gently suggested I see a cranial specialist, and that is how I found Mary Gold. From the first session, I noticed something was different. I knew that initial appointment was likely more of an evaluation, but I still walked out feeling lighter. After the second session, when she began working with my organs, I felt like I could finally take a full, deep breath. It was profound. I have overcome a lot in my life. Like many people, I carry childhood experiences that I have pushed through and not let define me. I am not much of a crier and tend to power forward rather than sit in emotional release. That day, before seeing Mary Gold, I told my acupuncturist that I honestly did not even know how to cry or release things that felt so deeply buried. Then I got on Mary Gold's table. I ugly cried. Full release. Emotions came out that I did not even know were still stored in my body. What followed is hard to describe other than a lightness that continues to unfold. Not something dramatic happening, but something heavy no longer being there. Physically, she also worked on my right hip flexor, which had been deeply stuck for who knows how long. Chiropractic and stretching were not enough. Without me telling her, she knew exactly where to go. After the next session, it was gone. Truly gone. I joked that I felt like Gumby. I realized how much tightness had been holding me together and how restricted my movement actually was. Every session brings another level of nervous system release. I am very in tune with my body. I have practiced yoga almost daily for over 10 years, I understand breathwork, and I also have severe ADHD with a very fiery nervous system. Since starting cranial work with Mary Gold, my system is noticeably calmer. I am already down to about 50 percent of my ADHD medication and would not be surprised if I am able to continue tapering. I am patient with the process and grateful for the direction my body is going, regardless of timeline. I had no idea what to expect going into cranial work. I honestly thought it would be intense or invasive. It is not. It is the calmest, lightest touch. Nothing forced. Just deep listening to the body. Mary Gold is a special human. Her patience, presence, and ability to listen to the body is a true gift. I have met many intuitive and empathetic people, but what sets her apart is how she honors and follows through on that gift with integrity and selflessness. The trust I have with her is unlike anything I have experienced in a healing relationship. If you are curious about cranial work, my advice is to give it time. Especially if you are not deeply tuned into your body, the changes may be subtle at first. But slowly, you will notice your body adjusting, moving, and responding in everyday life. This has been one of the most profound and meaningful experiences of my life. I am deeply grateful and cannot recommend Mary Gold enough.

My midwives recommended Marygold from cranial sacral, so I figured I'd give it a shot, and I'm so glad I did! His posture was night and day from the start of the first appointment to the end. His sleep also started to improve just after his first appointment. (For the record, he was probably 4 weeks when I started taking him, and he's 7.5 weeks now.) I take him about once a week, and while there are still regressions, the overall trajectory has been progress! He always leaves the appointment unbelievably relaxed and wants to sleep for hours. I am sooo grateful for these women and what they do. Another bonus is that between the 2 of them, they have a whole PILE of kids and have so much experience and compassion to postpartum moms and newborns. Most memorable among them was when I visited her during a worrisome miracle pregnancy. Miracle because I wanted a child but didn't cycle regularly... worrisome because the conception and therefore due date could not be determined. My midwife was panicking, and pushing me to be induced, encouraging anything, "even accupuncture" to start labor. (That's not how things work, Michelle.) Anyway, Brandy's care at that time was very soothing, calming and reassuring. Amid an oasis of fear, she gave me peace. I left there feeling like my baby was okay, I was okay, and everything would be fine. Nothing was amiss with my meridians. Nothing was really wrong at all, except my freaking-out midwife. I did end up getting induced because my midwife said she'd quit, otherwise. I didn't know anybody else, was new to the area, and didn't think at the time to just FIRE her butt and find another care provider. And do you know what? Turns out Brandy was right. The baby had been just fine. The attending physician at the birth observed at her initial evaluation - spoken loudly and slowly so that my midwife could understand, I suppose - that our baby could have stayed in the womb another two weeks or so.
