This weekend I suggested to yet another friend that was staying Downtown that we meet up for a a breakfast chat. Both of us ordered the Garden Farm Benedict at $15 a piece, and shared a Pear Danish, and I got a hot latte. The staff here are lovely and, although they were super busy, our gorgeous dishes hit the table quickly. The latte was strong and delicious as usual. Unfortunately, the pear in the danish wasn't poached or anything and seemed too hard for the danish. I think we were both expecting it to be poached or something - but that's on us. The Benedict's were a little bland, I got a hint of the brown butter hollandaise in one bite, but it seemed to disappear after that. They didn't over season, which I appreciate, and we could add salt and pepper (from their whimsical shaker collection, might I add) to our liking. The PublicUs sourdough it was all piled on was great. The roasted red bliss potatoes were perfect, crispy and salty on the outside, creamy on the inside - my favorite bite on the plate. I love PublicUs dearly, but I think I'll stick to the tried and true avocado toast next time which is always reliably incredible.

The staff was kind and helpful too. And the resident bunny (this one alive and well) is so cute. The next time I come to Vegas I am definitely making sure to stop by again.

There were so many fun trinkets, tote bags, notebooks, plushies... and my favorite part? A pet bunny! Yes, I can dig it…read more Dig It! Coffee is the latest cafe to sit on the southwest corner of Colorado and Casino Center. I happened to find an open parking spot during the free weekday lunch parking period today and had enough time after brunch to stop in. The music and employees seemed easygoing and the various mostly lone patrons kept to themselves. I didn't see anything especially captivating on the March drinks of the month list or the latte menu, so I stuck to one of my default orders, the Nitro Cold Brew ($6.25 for the large 20 oz size). The barista pulled it quickly enough as it wasn't busy, and I took it along with me as I left. The nitro cold brew here is a very potent and smooth beverage. It's roasty, maybe a touch acidic, but not popping off with fruity notes like some other roasters seem to favor. Almost as importantly, they didn't put any ice in the cup, adding value and reducing dilution. If I'm out and about in the Arts District and want a nitro cold brew, I'll definitely keep Dig It! in mind. Even with other great coffee spots nearby, I would consider coming back here.

It has that calm, easygoing feel that makes you want to sit down for a while instead of just grabbing something and leaving. Their prosciutto sandwich is delicious too. Everything was simple, fresh, and put together really well without trying to do too much. It's a great little spot to stop in for coffee, lunch, or even just to get away from the downtown noise for a bit. Definitely one of those places that deserves more attention.
