This is really a 2.5 star review, rounded up to 3…read more The positives first: 1. Pizza was thin crust. By NYC standards, the crust was wimpy -- not glutinous / chewy enough -- and a little underdone, but the husband and five year old gobbled it down anyway. 2. The food came out improbably fast. 3. Prices were bargain basement for Stockholm. 4. The guys who worked there (north African or Turkish) were nice-ish in a gruff kind of way, and were tolerant of our unintelligible efforts at speaking guidebook Swedish. Through some pointing and a few English words, we were able to communicate what we wanted. They were pretty affirmatively helpful to my husband; they were standoffish with me. Maybe just a cultural thing. 5. There's free "salad" (sort of a cabbage slaw) that comes with meals, which you help yourself to. It had a mayonnaise-y dressing and was sitting out unrefrigerated. The slaw, for all its possible hygienic shortcomings, tasted pretty good. 6. They have some pretty wild flavor combinations. The "tropical" comes with toppings that include banana, pineapple and curry powder. Wow. We had the "Hawaiian" with ham (minute pieces of shredded ham-colored substance) and pineapple. The mostly non-existent ham actually suited us just fine since our little one required most of it to be picked off his slices anyway. The negatives: 1. I had an awful upset stomach a few hours later, which may or may not have been related to what I ate here. I had the shrimp salad and some of that aforementioned slaw. The shrimp salad was pretty bad, a strange (to me) concoction of pepperoncini, canned black olives, shredded mozzarella and tiny, waterlogged salad shrimp on top of a largely iceberg lettuce-based mix, which I hate. I did like the ripe-ish tomatoes in there, though, and the cucumber. 2. The ingredients here are not of high quality. They closely resemble some of the lower-grade $1 pizza slice places in NYC. That said, see #1 of the positives, above. 3. The place is about as clean as a fast food pizza place in the US. Read: the tables are sort of sticky, the floors could be mopped a bit more thoroughly than they are. But I didn't find it grotesque. Overall, this fit the bill of what we were looking for: Something fast, easy and accessible to a picky five-year old before a show at Fasching. I hope for the sake of Stockholmers that this isn't the best pizza in the city.
