Our host Amelia was very friendly and helpful, even though the WiFi was down she was able to figure something out to make sure our Casino Royale escape room experience was functional. Our theme was definitely on point with what we had to look for inside in order to get out, we were in a group of four and we all helped each other, it was very creative, and helpful clues. We were able to get out with 13 minutes left to spare and only using 1 clue (you get 3 clues) Restroom is clean, gender neutral, lots of parking available in the plaza. From our arrival, the place just had a dirty feel. Had to use the restroom and found hurricane shutters being stored in there. There was a storage space across from restroom that was kinda covered but you could still see in it. Then we headed back up front to check in. Watched the "safety" video, which was a joke. As we walked to our room, we passed by the other two rooms. The first room didn't even have a full wall. We could hear the people in the room talking and trying to solve their puzzle. When we walked into our room, our "game master" gave us the rundown. There was a theme but literally no storyline. Super lame! The quality of the equipment was not good. The countless locks we had to unlock took us several times of entering the same code to finally get the lock to open. Thinking we had the wrong code, we asked the "game master" for help. The game master wasn't paying attention to where we were in the "game" and gave us help for something we had already figured out. There were props of items that we found that were complete irrelevant to the "game". We've been to a few escape rooms before and this one was such a major let down. Don't waste your money on this place drive to Ft. Myers but make sure it's a decent one. Apparently the owners of this one own one in FM as well so it may be just as bad. 10/10 experience! We had a group of 10 and it was so much fun!! This was my first escape room like many others in the group, I believe only 1-2 people in the group have gone to an escape room before. Luckily two people in the group knew how to play chess or we'd be screwed for the first room LOL. The owners have set these rooms up so perfectly that it truly puts your mind to the test and makes you think really hard. Luckily they give you 3 clues to use and trust me, WE USED THEM & won with 7 minutes to spare!! One room was spilt into 3 smaller rooms each with a locked door. And every time we got into the new room it looked like a new clue was posted to the tv screen for us. We had a BLAST trying to figure out the codes and locks and what they were used for. We definitely will be going back to do another room in the future! I will tell everyone how awesome this place is!!!! read more

This was the WORST escape room we have ever done, and we've easily done over 40. Although the staff was nice, nice doesn't it cut it when you pay for an experience and you ask REPEATEDLY for a clue and find out no one is paying attention and are ignoring customers. Our time kept getting paused for GM to figure out where we were. The room we were in was horribly done and needs major fixing. I'm trying not leave any spoilers but There was no indications and clues for some of the things... like the hand holding thing? We had to waste a clue to be told to hold hands but nothing indicated that?? The weighing puzzle didn't work and didn't yield the correct code despite being set on the correct setting. Our group was very frustrated and wanted to just walk out. Low quality room, non working puzzles, no links or flow to the room... all around awful. We've done rooms all over SWFL, Tampa, Bradenton, Orlando, north Florida, on cruise ships, and even Massachusetts. Save your money and go to a place that gives a crap about quality, puzzles and clues that make sense, and GMs who pay attention to paying customers. read more

I travelled back in time with friends Friday evening to solve a murder mystery. Who knew Cape Coral had a time travel portal?!? It's right off of Pine Island Road. The experience was a groovy "Blast From The Past" and we had a great time. I'm happy to report we identified the killer and solved this cold case from 1972. We were a group of five adult women. No one in our group had experienced an escape room previously. The room was clean and decorated nicely for the story/theme. The puzzles were challenging but solvable. The reservation process and interaction with the game master, Patrick, was great. They offer you hints/nudges if you get stuck. They genuinely want you to have a positive outcome, weather you experience the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. In my opinion, you don't need any previous experience to enjoy this room. Their rooms accommodate up to eight people but I felt our group size was perfect. We had enough people to search for clues and solve puzzles without feeling crowded or that there were too many people trying to do the same thing. I wouldn't suggest this for a date but a double-date might be a lot of fun. Tips and Suggestions: Make sure you arrive early so you can get a briefing from the game master and take care of any business before your time begins. It may seem obvious but USE THE BATHROOM before you go inside. Once you leave the room, your game is over. Final Assessment: Great group activity for friends and/or family. We laughed, had some great "a-ha" moments and made some fun memories. This was a nice change from a typical Friday evening activity. I'm looking forward to doing this again. read more

I debated 3 stars, but my son said 4.. We did the Casino Royale room.. it was very difficult.. the clues are very tough.. I had hoped for more of an experience, but it's pretty much "figure out something" to open another lock... we had 5 people with us and we did not escape. 2 parts of the puzzle (to escape) were missing parts and a lock wouldn't open, when we had the correct code. So things malfunctioned. Which makes the next part of the puzzle impossible to solve! Geez! But I did like that there were a lot of riddles to solve. The room was pretty basic, not a whole lot to look at. The mad hatter room looks super cool - but, I bet hits hard.. but it looks like a whole experience.. read more

What a fun, unique and positive experience! I went with a group of women that I met via YELP. Karen T. made the arrangements and a big shout out and thank you to her for taking on the plans. They ask that you meet 15 mins prior to your scheduled time so that rules, safety etc., can be gone over. You also do need to sign a basic waiver. None of us took issue with any of the rules. We had all agreed upon a 1970's themed murder room. It was fun and cool. Although, I do wonder how 1970's had keypad door lock entries ... ?? Haha. The object is for you to solve the murder and report it to the detective. This opens the door for exiting the room. In order to solve the murder you have to find and solve clues hidden in the room(s). Just when you think you're almost there ... more locks and clues! If you get stuck you can ask for help. The room is monitored to assist and in case you have that friend who panics and wants out. There were 5 of us and it seemed we all had enough to do to resolve this crime. We worked together and it seemed to me that for this room 5 was a good number. I highly recommend this as a unique activity. I'd do again with a different room. Highly recommend! read more

It wasn't great at all. They didn't set up the room, so when we got into the room, the employee was setting it up still. After we started, we had a really difficult time, and at the time we didn't know that the employee didn't even set it up right. We were supposed to begin with weighted dice to give us a code, but instead we began with a key that was lying on the table. The key was actually supposed to be in a casino game, not lying on the table. We finished the escape room with three locks still not opened. We told the employees this and they just said sorry, nothing else. All in all, will definitely not be going back. read more

I had an awesome experience at Escape the Cape! They are located right on pine island road, very easy to find. We tried out both rooms and were very impressed with both. This escape room facility was by far the best experience I have had. The rooms require you to work with your team mates in order to get out. However I never felt like it was hopeless like I have at others. The owners are very friendly and professional and give you just the nudge you need to get passed any road blocks.
