They really put in some great work here to make it a well-used, family friendly attraction. Yes, I am calling this an attraction as there are a multitude of things to do in here besides bowling. To the basics here, bowling. Bowling is easy to get going here. Walk in, tell them how many in your party, pay for the game, pick up your shoes and make your way to the lane they assigned to you. Electronic scoring, so no need to worry if you do not know how to figure bowling math. The lanes can be reserved either by the amount of games you plan to play or within a timeframe (like you want the lane for 2 hours). Bumper bowling is available with the railing going up and down if assigned to a person in your party. Balls are available if you aren't an avid bowler, and smaller weight balls, specifically for kids, are usually behind the counter. Our game had five people in our party. We paid for one round of bowling. But before we were able to get to the tenth frame, the lane shutdown. A simple trip to the counter to let them know we were done yet and they had us back up in no time. Each lane has a table behind it in the general area that is reserved to the lanes in front of it. So if you were to order food you can enjoy it here and continue your game. (Review for that restaurant on property forthcoming). Once done with the game, replace your ball, return your shoes, and then you can go about your day. However, there are other things to do here in you see it fit to do. Aside from the restaurant mentioned before, there is a separate section that looks like you can reserve for a private party, good for birthdays and what not. On top of that, they have a pretty decent arcade where you can win token for prizes. In the arcade area there is also laser tag. If you have a card for the arcade, you can swipe it for a game of laser tag. You would think that was enough for under one roof, but there is one more feature to this place. Escape rooms. They have two themed escape rooms that you can play. Not sure if they plan on switching them over anytime soon, but if you have played both of them, you've completed that for here.

I had been craving to get another escape room in and I was excited to see they had a room in Westmont. I did all the setting up online before we got there to make it as seamless as possible. If you do sign up online, make sure that you reserve for four spots. If you don't, they can cancel on you, which isn't cool if you already paid. As of now, they only have one game available and another appears to be on the way soon-ish. The difficulty was up there for the room and it was of a pirate theme. As usual, you get the rundown of the rules after you sign your waiver. You are told how to ask for clues, given the time limit and set to watch a video before the countdown begins. We went about at our own pace. We did some puzzles out of order, but that did not effect the outcome. We got out that was all that matters. I had a good time, would come back when another game is added or this one changes over.

We were greeted by Brandon (I think that's his name), and he was an awesome game master. He explained things well, and we even chatted with him after we finished. We did the Alice in Wonderland themed room, and it was just the right amount of challenging for our group. We made it out with about 5 minutes to spare. This room really takes some teamwork! Our only issue was that one of the locks kept sticking, so we were having a bit of trouble getting it open. He helped us out, and we were in our way. I love doing escape rooms, and if we're back in the area, I'm sure we'd check them out again

Our guest of honor (birthday girl) chose the Egyptian adventure: "You are following in the foot steps of renowned Egyptologist Dr. Peter Von Brink and his life work of finding the Lost Pharaoh." There were eight of us, and all of us were escape room virgins. The rooms were simple and uncluttered, so there weren't a lot of distractions. We were faced simply with clues, puzzles and locked items. We made little progress before twenty-five minutes had passed, so we asked for a clue. Five minutes later we were through our first door. In the second room, although we could make sense of a lot of the clues, nothing came together, so we asked for another clue from the Game Master. Once we got a handle on the way things seemed to work, we were able to crack the code and finish the adventure with nine-and-a-half minutes to spare. To sum up, we had a blast, went through a plethora of emotions, one of us (not me) obviously needs anger management, and we all recommend doing this a least once. It turns out everybody has valuable strengths and weaknesses that together can solve these mysteries. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our host, Brian, even took group photos with our phones.

If you have never done an escape room - this might be a good "starter"…read more But if you have done any submersive escape rooms, at all, you are probably going to be disappointed. While the puzzles are pretty good, the set feels so temporary you never are not aware that you are in a room in a shopping center. The attention to detail, found in many escape rooms, was definitely lacking: The "room" we did was only partitioned off of the others so that the set was only 7ft tall, we could hear talking in the lobby and one of the locks hung unlocked. We were given a choice on how difficult we would like the room. It amounted to how many clues we would like. If you picked easy - all that means is if you ask for more clues they give them to you. While the puzzles did hold a challenge, the room was not nearly as good as the other, more sophisticated escape rooms in State College. If you want to get your feet wet in escape rooms I suppose this might be the way to go. But personally I would much rather have a real escape room experience. We will not be going back to do any of their other rooms, which is a shame because we live close and are obsessed with escape rooms. But even so, these rooms are just not worth the time/money.
