While booking my weekend getaway in Rome with my girlfriend, I noticed that I had a 7-hour layover…read morein Manchester. Wanting this itinerary to be as comfortable as possible, I decided to book access to the airport lounge ahead of time. Once I landed at the airport in Manchester, I went to freshen up, eat, and then made my way over to the Escape Lounge in terminal 3. There are two of them, one for card holders, and another for those who access the lounge via a one-time payment. I made my way to the latter, and showed the front desk workers my proof of purchase. From there, I served myself some food and iced tea, and went to sit down. The lounge was not too busy at the time, and I was able to find a quite corner where I could sit down and study for a bit. The food was ok, not gourmet my any means, but it wasn't crappy either. They have iced tea, as well as an automated coffee machine that churns out cappuccinos that are decent. After several hours, I got up to get more food, and I found lunch items had now been served. I got some tuna sandwich slices, a salad, and some more iced tea. Much like the breakfast items, the lunch items were ok. Once it came close to my flight time, I exited the lounge and made my way toward my gate. My time here was comfortable, allowing me to relax for a bit in my long journey toward Rome. Thanks for the great experience!

This too was a disaster and I feel it's ripoff calibration between escape lounge and dragon pass. I know what the T&M are but given that it was only 1/3 full. Do not waste your money on a dragon pass, especially if you're going to try use an escape lounge. You will not be welcome.

Upon entry I was shocked to hear and see many screaming shouting babies and young children. This is NOT the ambiance of an airport lounge I wish to pay for, I can get that atmosphere outside where it is cheaper and stand a chance of sitting at the opposite end of the airport. That said, which tbh is enough! The bacon rolls, cereal and other snacks is not bad for an airport lounge. Ample seating but it is in one big room and not sectioned off in any way, like most others. The drinks at the bar all have to be asked for, and the skeleton staff are run ragged meaning you may have to wait. Would I come in here again... Answer is simple 'NO'... Choose one of the others and if this is the only choice, spend £20 each in one of the nice restaurants having a full English with a drink or two if u like.

Good selection of food inc bacon sandwiches for breakfast. Also good selection of drinks. The whole experienced has been applied and the noise has gone unchallenged. Had this not been an issue then the lounge would have had at least 2 more stars.

Very disappointing - again! This is my 4th time in this lounge and it continues to go downhill…read more The check-in desk is understaffed and excruciatingly slow. A group of 20+ passengers waited over 25 minutes before being allowed in the lounge! The space is untidy (dirty tables, ripped cushions and stained carpet). A major facelift is in order. The food selection isn't bad for a morning flight. Pastries, yogurt and cereal choices. All fairly tidy but not well stocked. Overall a below average experience.

It's quite a spacious lounge, so while there were many passengers visiting (and stuck, as I was there during some pretty severe windstorms) there was still plenty of room to spread out in different sections of the lounge. But my favorite spot to sit was by the windows overlooking the bar/food court below... great for people watching! There were a few food service areas throughout the club, all of which were well stocked. The lounge attendants were very friendly. My only criticism was the lack of service to the shower rooms. There are 2 which are just open and self-serve (instead of asking for access from the front desk). As a result, both showers were *ahem* "soiled" with previous users who could have used the restrooms but chose not too. One even had a dirty diaper on the floor! As a result, I chose the one that was less dirty, and used the towels from the other room to spread out on the floor and the shower stall itself. At least I had a place to freshen up after my flight from Chicago. Overall, a pretty good lounge.

It is the smallest of the three terminals at…read moreManchester Airport, and yet it seems like the one that has received the least funding and investment over the years, even for an airport, it is so dull and has no atmosphere. Despite only being served by a small number of airlines, including British Airways and RyanAir, the queues here always seem to be increasingly long, with wait times of over an hour to drop off and reclaim my baggage before and after my most recent flight, a RyanAir flight to/from Milan Bergamo. I was unable to find any gluten-free food and drink options here other than crisps and a bland soup. Even beverage options were limited for those that didn't want water or soda. Boots, Caffe Nero, Costa, KFC and WHSmith all have stores here, there is a BIZA duty-free, which is pretty much the traditional duty-free at an airport, nothing better, nothing worse. I also found a lack of announcements ahead of my outbound flight to Milan, the flight was delayed and the board simply didn't update, and then it caused a mad rush to the gate when it was announced. A badly understaffed airport, with awful planning, awful service and only a small number of facilities after going through security, not forgetting the high drop-off charges, this Terminal needs to be knocked down with resources split between Terminals 1 and 2, as this terminal does not do any justice to one of the world's greatest cities - Manchester, nor does it do any justice to Manchester Airport. It's a sad sad mess. 1*
