Awesome little third wave ship inside the Burton store. They toast their own beans. Very knowledgeable barista. Great spot!

Saint-Henri Micro-torréfacteur is one of the best known coffee roasteries from Quebec. You're…read morelikely to find their beans in your favorite coffee shop. So it's pretty safe to expect a wonderful cup of coffee out of their own establishment. There's quite a few St-Henri coffee shops in Montreal, but the one in the St-Henri neighbourhood is - surprise - the original. Roasting is done in the back of the shop, while the barista prepared cups of caffeinated goodness for patrons sitting toward the windows. It smells good in there, and the church pews and rickety wooden chairs make the whole place seem warm and homely - the perfect stop after a long walk on a cool spring afternoon. I got intrigued by their selection of rather unusual herbal teas (mostly from plants found in Quebec's northern wilderness), and went for the "thé boréal", a mix of what might be nettle, black currants and other plants. It was very good. We shared a banana bread that was moist and rich with brown sugar and chocolate. My boyfriend got the prettiest latte, with all these tiny bubbles in the delightfully rich crema. He loved it. We sat there blissfully for awhile, not needing to talk. We'll be back.

Their coffe was next level - I got flat white and it was one of th best I have had aka smooth and perfectly balanced. The staff were friendly, and made small conversations. So glad we made a pit stop here on our trip.

The brûlerie was was super close to our Airbnb, so it naturally made sense for us to stop here. The brûlerie sits it the bottom level of a row house, typical of businesses along Rue St-Denis. It's quite spacious, with a decent amount of seating and a large production counter. The counter itself is separated into two sections with one place to order beverage and food, and the other to order coffee beans in bulk. The coffee selection here is massive and separated by different regions/countries. I decided to get a cappuccino and a croissant - both were good. I also decided to sit in lieu of taking to go and it was quite comfortable there to just relax and sip. The croissant was also good, though I had a piece of my dad's scone and it wasn't good - too dry, even for a scone. Service was good, and overall I had a pleasant experience at Brûlerie St-Denis - worth a stop in if you're in the area.

Service was amazing and the girl at the counter was super sweet! We got an iced chai and vanilla iced matcha which were both super smooth. We also got bagels with cream cheese (you can't go wrong with Montreal bagels), and to top it all off we had a salted Carmel cookie, which was TO DIE FOR. 10/10 food and experience, if I was a local I think I would come her quite often!
