Just be careful getting out of the car in your good clothes if it's been wet. Even if it hasn't been wet actually. Cusacks is very lively and regularly has complaints to the State Troopers for loud music after midnight. Everyone in the neighborhood is bothered by it. One never thought they'd be living outside the city limits by a honky tonk. But it's lively. That's for sure. There is also abundant wildlife including 8 large dogs who roam the neighborhood, poop on everyone's property and invade everyone's personal space including visits the front door. Imagine how that goes over by the resident dog. The Troopers have had many calls but so far the only suggestion is pepper spray. Outside the City Limits right. Imagine how awful that will smell at a wedding though. Anyway. I'm sure you can tell how well loved by the neighborhood these out of state entrepreneurs are. Yes. The web site spins some heart felt tale about sisters from Alaska, but the owner is one person from Out of state. But, they're making a buck so who cares right.

This isn't your typical outfitter. Not only do they focus on the fishing, but they make sure EVERYTHING is taken care if for you. No need to haul your gear from home, just show up and you'll use their top-end equipment from Orvis, Simms, etc. Their guides are absolutely top notch. The guys put us on the fish each day, cleaned our catches and took it to the processor for freezing and shipping without a blink. You can tell the owners take care of them; not much turnover and the guides speak highly of the place. The food is outstanding! JR and his team knocked it out of the park with each meal, and there's never a shortage of wines and cigars to go along with the great food. What else can I say.....TRL gives you a perfect combination of great fishing, awesome food, big laughs and amazing value.

I booked a trip for aug 31 to sept 6 and when final emails came I would need to rent a car and drive to two of the locations which weren't close so taxi/Uber was not a option. Due to my personal situation , that was not acceptable. I had to cancel my trip but had to lose my non-refundable air fare ... John and Jackie were so friendly and outgoing. They took us horseback riding, offered to take us fishing, and invited us up to their house for coffee and banana bread. We stayed in the larger cabin and we loved it. We had a great view of the horses, had our own outdoor grill, and our own little cabin getaway. We are planning to go back to Alaska next year and will be definitely staying again.
