I am so, so happy to have found this gem! I wanted to treat my friend to a foot massage for her birthday, but I was a little unsure of our schedule that day, so it was down to a last-minute decision to find one. After calling a few in our area, and having no luck because no one picked up the phone, I expanded my search to Dania Beach and found Escape Foot Spa. They were able to take us with a few hours notice. They were very nice when we got there, and offered us a bottle of water before the massage started. I am updating my review on my recent experience after I left for a year. First off the staff are always friendly. The place is clean. My massage tech was very friendly and attentive. She worked on the areas that I asked. The only thing I do not like in a massage ( which I asked for Swedish) is the stretching, pulling and slapping. Correct me if I am wrong but Swedish massage does not have that maybe Thai massage does. I would be okay with stretching if I wasn't nude and the hitting and slapping takes away my relaxed vibe. If they would stop doing for me, others may like it but for me please stop I will keep returning and let them know what doesn't work for me. read more

What went well? Welllllll I'm coming back for starters, the way I ended up here was unconventional but here not there. Coming in, it was giving authentic. I was greeted and prompted through the first room which is where they give the reflexology massages and into the back rooms for the body massages. Room was nice and had another bed for couples. The woman who put her hands on me *pause* knew exactly what she was doing. "Is it okay?" Girllllll do what you do! From the beginning to end of my upper body I was hoping she would not stop -- she gave me exactly what I 'kneaded'. We moved on to the other room where I laid face up with legs soaking in water before the beautiful delicacies of reflexology. And just wow... did I say I was coming back again? I'm sure these businesses get a lot of foot traffic (lol) and for the most part I'm not expecting a luxurious experience but a calming and straight to the point exceptional service scores high on my scoreboard. Listen this place is the best. I always went to Foot Heaven in Fort Lauderdale and i decided to try somewhere else, came across Foot Escape and there is zero comparison. From what I can tell after experiencing two different sets of hands here - there isn't much consistency or baseline strength in the actual massage. Uninspired and weak technique. And the cheap paper towels they use to wipe off your feet after soaking them in an unsettling Windex-colored solution reminds me of what it would feel like to try to bathe in a Burger King bathroom. It just doesn't feel... humane? Having lived on the West Coast where there is so much foot reflexology competition that it has pushed prices down to $12/hour (!) it is really hard to swallow close to $60/hour for a communal room experience like this, with virtually little to no chance of communication between yourself and the person rubbing on you - this is an underrated (and crucial, IMO) aspect of a good massage experience. In the end, it took some coaxing to get the manager to accept the Yelp check-in offer ($5 off Foot Massage) as she kept insisting that the offer was only good for "full body" even though it says "Foot Massage". My offer to pay in cash was the compromise that compelled her to accept the coupon. I tipped $15 but I was surprised the masseuse didn't come out to the lobby to verify/accept the tip. Weird. I'm not going back - that's for sure. A total no-brainer decision to get a real massage at a place like Holistic Wellness on Sheridan St. ($49/hr for 1st timers, normally $64/hr) instead. read more

Such a diamond in the rough. This place encompasses some very skilled and talented folks. It's not much to look at from the outside, or the inside, and yes, it's one communal room where they work on you, but they make sure to keep it nice and quiet and clean. Everyone is very polite and sweet. Was somewhat hesitant to post bc I don't want to give away a secret spot but have to give credit where credit is due. The foot massage saved me in my week 41 of pregnancy. Only a few days later I went into labor! Also was walking way better and all my pain throughout my body went away. Kind of hidden location in the Publix plaza on Dania Beach Blvd, but it is a great little spot. Service is also excellent. If you want a full body massage, ask for Sandi. She is wonderful. The place is nice and clean. They have about 12 stations for reflexology, and 2 private rooms with a total of 3 massage tables. This location is a branch of the original place in Taft Av. called Qi Spa. The owner (Mai) takes very good care of both locations, and makes sure that service quality stays high. I have used this business for many years and they give very good massages. However, there was a problem with the receptionist yesterday. I had a good foot massage and left my customary 20% tip. The receptionist pointed to a sign near the desk and insisted that I leave a minimum of $10. I think that 20% is a good tip for the services I received. The receptionist had no right to be so unpleasant and aggressive. I doubt that I'll go back. read more
