Written by my daughter Sienna: On a particularly lazy day during our trip to Dublin, we decided on a whim to book an escape room time at Escape Dublin, which was within walking distance of where we were staying. This was our first escape room as a family, and we came in with no real expectations, as well as a complete lack of experience. From the first moment we entered, our game coordinator, Sarah, was friendly, accommodating, and flexible, and even allowed us the choice between the room we had booked and another that was also open. We ended up picking Witchcraft and Wizardry, instantly folding ourselves into the world of enchantments, potions, secret passageways and clever clues. Despite our slow start as we adjusted to the new environment, we quickly began to uncover the hidden messages, reading between the lines and working closely with one another to eventually finish, with little time to spare. It was our first completed escape room, and we had the most exhilarating, hectic, and absolutely awesome experience. We are definitely coming back with our newfound puzzle-solving skills gathered from the first room, and it created so many exciting memories for our family. We implore anyone else that happens to find themselves in Dublin to visit this delightful place, which is excellent for those who want to exercise their wits and strengthen bonds while having an absolute blast with family or friends. read more

The premise here is simple. You're placed in a room with random objects, you have to use said random objects to get out of the room. Came here with my team from work as part of an offsite. We had a great time, and for the hour we were there I found myself fully immersed in the experience, not thinking about anything aside from getting the hell out of the room. Nice option if you're looking for a break from the booze or for some team building exercises. Would recommend splitting into 2 teams as they have 2 rooms and the competitive edge definitely adds to the experience. As Escape rooms continue to grow in popularity it will be interesting to see if they make the experience more interactive, perhaps incorporating sound, vibration or other visuals as part of the experience. read more
This was my third escape game room visited. The second in Dublin. So, the good: first, it's in a central location. Not many escape games in Dublin are. Second, the game itself didn't disappoint. We found ourselves enthralled in the game, felt the challenge, not too easy, not impossible and good all round fun ultimately. They also have two rooms here, so if you're a big group of people you can book them both and complete against each other as we did. In terms of design, I'd say this place is a bit basic in terms of props and decorations. I've been to other escape rooms which have put in far more effort into the decor and it does add to the experience. This didn't affect the level of challenge or the enjoyment of the game, but I think with all the rooms popping up around town an enhancement of the décor will soon be necessary. If you're an escape room junky though, I would recommend going here. You will enjoy it and it's not too pricy so it is worth your time. read more

Did the Espionage room and it was well done. The decor of the room was in keeping with the theme and there were lots of varied and interesting puzzles. If you get stuck, there is a TV where the staff can send you hints so that you don't spend the whole hour frustrated. The guy working at the time we went was very nice and pleasant to chat with after we escaped. Will definitely go back and do the other room and any others if they create new ones. read more
