We tried the contaminated hospital theme and only got stuck twice, but the house allows for two staff hints for this theme. The hints were a bit too direct, in my opinion. I feel there could have been better ways to convey a direction of guidance rather than the staff simply saying 'this is this which goes to this'. The straight-to-the-point 'hints' really broke any sense of immersion and honestly kinda ruined the respective puzzle they were attached to. This is no fault of the general staff; you could tell that they were simply reading from a script. I would highly suggest that whoever writes these scripts should revise them to not spoil the puzzle. All in all, the two of us made it out with time left to spare. It was a good all around visit and provided for a pleasant first escape room visit.

Hi, I recently celebrated a birthday at Trapped and invited 4 friends to tackle one of their rooms…read more We all were all not sure what to expect but by the end of it we had such an amazing time, that after successfully escaping from their Pyramid room we asked if they had any openings for any of their other rooms. Fortunately the very friendly and attentive staff were able to fit me and my friends in for their hospital room after completing our first room. During these rooms we were given 3 hints and whenever we radio'd in for a hint I believe the staff members were Colton and Devon who were very supportive and encouraging to talk to while working through the puzzles. All in all the Trapped experience went beyond our expectations. It was a lot of fun and I'm sure we will definitely be back to try out there other 2 rooms! Staff are amazing, facility is nice and the rooms are well done that you can feel that you're actually in your scenario. I'm limited by what I can say about the Great Escape by the promise that you make not to reveal details about it before you start. So this may be short on details and rather vague. But it was great fun and if you like puzzles, this will be a good activity for you. You must reserve ahead of time - you can book a group of 10 or, if you don't have that many, join another smaller group. I went for a friend's birthday party - some of us knew each other but others didn't. I do think that worked out better than a room of complete strangers but who can say? You'll pay ahead of time too (about $29 each) - our group leader paid for everyone and we just paid him back. You arrive 10 minutes before your start time and are guided upstairs for a "briefing." This is one of my few complaints - the building is not very well marked and the starting process is a bit unclear. If you don't know the address, you'll have a hard time finding it as there is only one poster in the window. Which, for the most part, is fine. It adds to the mystery. But we weren't sure how to get in (it was locked) or if we were just supposed to wait outside (I think you are). After the briefing, you're in the room. And... I really can't tell you much about that. You need to be observant, communicative, and a little creative. The amount of detail and effort that was placed into creating the room is fantastic. You can tell the creator really had a passion for this project. I could see this as a fun team-building event. It definitely worked for a birthday party (which kind of makes me wish I'd done it myself). My other major complaint: You can't really do it a second time. It was so much fun that I happily would but now I know the secrets and you can't really recreate the magic a second time.

The host, Alan, managed to stay in character while still conveying his genuine enthusiasm for the game. We quickly dove into the game and started working together. Our small group ended up working to our advantage; I know many people prefer larger groups with varied skills, but we liked it with just 4 of us. Alan gave us subtle hints to steer us in the general direction, but mostly watched us excitedly following the thread of the mystery. The amount of work put into making this place feel authentic is incredible. I am SUPER PROUD to say that we solved it!!! To be fair, we technically went 42 seconds over the time, but we still felt like winners because of our teamwork. Alan talked to us briefly afterwards, and you could tell he is truly passionate about what he does. We hadn't even realized how hungry we had gotten because we were so immersed in the mystery. Overall we were probably there a total of 2 hours, including the introduction, the puzzle itself, the "debriefing" and the pictures at the end. Excellent experience, especially since this year marks the 100 year anniversary of the explosion. Go do this awesome escape room before time runs out!

I expect this is done to discourage people from actually seeking a refund, and seems like an incredibly outdated practice. I've never experienced any other kind of vendor that doesn't refund over the phone.

I like to workout. I…read moremean "I'm a gym rat" kind of work out. If I could live at the gym I would. It's what happens when you lose a lot of weight and actually come to realize you like doing crazy things like run marathons, complete triathlons and lift heavy stuff. As a newer member to CGC I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the set up. The cost is reasonable too at about $50/month for a year membership. I haven't taken any classes so I can't vouch for that portion of the gym but I do hang out upstairs in the cardio room quite a bit and so far so good. They tell me it's not too busy during the morning/day. As of yet I've never had to wait for a treadmill. When it is feeling a little "packed" I'll go run laps on the indoor track. It's a great way to get in some nice cross training in between some push ups or perfecting the pull-up. My favorite part about CGC is the pool(s). Olympic standard size and as of yet never too busy to not get a lane. Instead of chloride as standard chemical cleaner they use bromide (much gentler on the skin). Locker rooms (both wet and dry options) are spacious. Lockers themselves are big for that over stuffed gym bag. Showers are kind of funky but once you get the hang of them they're not too bad. And while I don't frequent Subway, it's very convenient to be able to grab a little nosh on the way out.

I have to give an update to the Sportsplex. We went over there for the Pirates-Cove Swim on Friday…read morenight. This review is for a particular staff member who was in need of some serious coaching for customer service. Now, before we went , the site says go at least 45 min before hand to line up and they start to sell tickets half an hour before the swim which was at 7:30 pm. The reason for this insanity of earliness was because of March Break. So we went there for 6:30. We went up to the desk to ask for the tickets and she said they would start selling them at 7:00. No problem, she told us to stand in the line, which is what we did. There was another lady there with her children who was there since 5:30 pm, she thought she could buy hers ahead of time. Policy is No! I understand why this policy is, so I do not have an issue with that. The issue was with the lady , who we believe was management. She proceeded to tell us to leave and come back, that we were interrupting the line of the people who were going in for the 6:30 swim. Please take note, there was no one in a line for the 6:30 swim, they simply walked right up to the counter and we are talking a span of 2 minutes. Now, being the person I am, I simply said , no. I was not going to walk around for 1/2 hour to come back and stand at the end of a line when I am standing at the beginning right now, where is the logic there, I will tell you, There Is None! The other lady, however was not quite so diplomatic, she and the manger started to exchange words. The Manger was telling us to leave and come back, the lady was very unhappy that we were being told to go and do something else and come back. Let's just say, after we all had words with Miss Congeniality, we stayed exactly where we were and within 15 minutes the line was down the hall. Hind-site, we would have left and been at the end of the line. I would hate to hear the conversation at that point. It is unfortunate that she was on duty that evening, as she did not win anyone over, just annoyed everyone. And we all thought she was poor with the customer service. Now, the swim, that was good. Lots of life guards. Great Fun!

An ice surface, cardio gym, weight room, 2 swimming pools, fitness classes and a new indoor running track are all housed int his building with a number of community rooms available for Bingo and meetings. My "Safe Prom" party was hosted at the Dartmouth Sportsplex and we were given basically full reign over the building overnight. The pools were open for swimming, and the lifeguards that were on duty were very nice, despite the fact that they had to stay awake overnight with a few hundred high school graduates. Hot Hint: If you are looking for a fitness pass that give you a great variety of workouts this is the place to go. A membership gives access to all the facilities, and a discounted rate on exercise classes.

Trampolines are worn and very dirty. Extremely hot inside. No ventilation or fans running. No music. Horrible atmosphere. No one is wearing masks. No one is washing their hands ever. Bathrooms are disgusting dirty. Urine and deuces all over. My children could not use the washrooms due to how dirty. No one was cleaning the entire time at the park. Do yourself a favour, avoid going here. They do not care about your safety and it shows. *Update: Not impressed with the lack of response from Get Air. Very unhappy family. Was looking into taking myself and children for covid testing due to the lack of proper covid prevention measures at the park.

This little provincial park is a beautiful little island just a short water taxi ride away. And oh…read moreboy is it worth having to call the water taxi! The island is stuffed full of history, and it's a beautiful spot to spend a day or a weekend hiking. There are two retired British forts on the island - Fort McNab and Fort Ives. There's also a lighthouse, plenty of beaches and boarded up homes that used to belong to the McNabs family (I think?). But better than the history is how serene it is. The Friends of McNabs Island do tours if you want the official low-down on the history and all that, but it's such a nice spot to escape to for a day. You can camp there as well, though I haven't. It's absolutely beautiful, ad I can't wait to spend some more time there this summer.

You can visit two old British forts - Fort Ives and Fort McNab. There is also Hangman's Beach which the British apparently used to hang deserters. If cemeteries are your thing, there is a cemetery of the McNab family and there is another one of some cholera victims. Mostly though, the island is a quiet place to hike and enjoy the scenery and have a picnic. I wasn't sure what the lighthouse was that I saw from Point Pleasant Park but it's Mauger's Beach Lighthouse. Hurricane Juan split the beach in two so you would have to wade through some water to get to the lighthouse now. There are a few summer houses on the island that are private property but it's mostly open space on the island. There are a few campsites you can reserve through the park website if you are so inclined.
