I am completely inspired to try and replicate this at home. Pimientos de Padron are small jalapeño looking peppers but they are not hot were grilled in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt and they were delicious. Datiles con Bacon, you can't go wrong with bacon and dates! Frito Mallorquin de Matanzas was a pork stew, and oh so good. The server enticed me with decaf con leche and I thought that was the perfect end. Then to top the meal, a bottle arrived with a liquor only made on this island. Heirbas is anise, orange flowers...and.... Who new there was a healing alcohol drink. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbs_de_Majorca What was really great, besides the location of being on the square in Soller, is that I am gluten free and had a severe reaction earlier in the week and ended up at the farmacia and altered my plans for the trip due to my blistered skin. Being GF is no joke. The server Juan Pedro was well versed in gluten free menu items and recommended several dishes. Trust me, it was an amazing tapa meal and following his advice was a win, win! I have had some hit and misses in my journey and this is a hit! When you find yourself in Soller, this is a restaurant you need to seek.

BoQueta is conveniently located in downtown Soller with plenty of on-street parking, or a 5 minute walk from Soller's main municipal lot. The cuisine is contemporary Spanish. What sets BoQueta apart is Chef Kiko's innovative juxtapositions of local Balearics flavors and textures. This is a serious dining experience wrapped in a laid back atmosphere that's often missing in more staid fine restaurants on the island. Dinner each evening is a 5-course set menu at about €25 per person or €45 if you choose to have it paired with Mallorquin and Spanish wines. Kids are also welcome, and can choose a course from the evening's set menu, or the kitchen will whip up a plate of fresh pasta. Seating for dinner starts at about 8pm. Reservations are highly recommended, especially if you're planning on dining al fresco with views of the Tramuntana mountains. Indoor dining is no less romantic. Lunch is also excellent and a steal at about €12-15, including beverage. C'an BoQueta is a must if you're lodging or stopping in Soller, and merits the drive if you're not.

My waiter was well versed in the menu and took the time to explain the significance of the local ingredients used throughout each course, which added a lot to the experience. I opted for the regular tasting menu at €47.50 and added a bottle of white Mallorcan wine for €24.50, both excellent values. They open with xeixa and carob bread, and from there every course delivered. The dogfish and the goat croquette were personal highlights and absolutely worth trying. The dessert was a strong finish to a well constructed meal. One small note at the end: when finished, you head inside to the host to request the check rather than waiting at the table. For the price, this is a fantastic experience. There's something special about watching local ingredients handled by people who clearly know and respect the region's culinary traditions. Absolutely worth a visit.
