Gaudeix - Prawn croquette, foie a la plancha, and pulpo. ALL absolutely delicious and well seasoned.

I had three tapas and a beer, when I was finished there were still quite a few empty tables and the reservations hadn't come in. Pricing was a little odd. The waiter pointed out that the items on the menu board with yellow dots were discounted before 7:30 PM so I stuck to those. And while he must have confused my English on one of the tapas, the other two weren't even the same price as what was on the board. Whatever, I won't argue. Maybe you will? I had the crystal bread (delicious toasted bread topped with a tomato sauce), shrimp and garlic cooked under a broiler in a lot of butter and a shrimp/leek risotto that was delicious. The three with the 40cl beer were €30. Close to full price and worth it for the flavor and well done food. Nice fancy restaurant and I enjoyed it.

I would rate it 3.5 stars. We had a combo of tapas and pinchos at Gaudeix - food was just OK. Some…read moretapas were better than others. The squid stuffed with prawns, scallops with the artichoke cream, and lobster stew was good. The croquettes were OK, not my the best in Palma though. I was not a fan of the foie gras. The service was OK too. I'm not sure if they were just having a really busy night, but I felt as if they weren't as attentive as other places we had been to in Palma. Overall, it was a good meal but not the highlight of my trip.

Tapas, and more tapas! In fact I am returning tomorrow to try new ones!…read more The Patatas con Allioli was like a potato salad with ailoli. I am completely inspired to try and replicate this at home. Pimientos de Padron are small jalapeño looking peppers but they are not hot were grilled in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt and they were delicious. Datiles con Bacon, you can't go wrong with bacon and dates! Frito Mallorquin de Matanzas was a pork stew, and oh so good. The server enticed me with decaf con leche and I thought that was the perfect end. Then to top the meal, a bottle arrived with a liquor only made on this island. Heirbas is anise, orange flowers...and.... Who new there was a healing alcohol drink. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbs_de_Majorca What was really great, besides the location of being on the square in Soller, is that I am gluten free and had a severe reaction earlier in the week and ended up at the farmacia and altered my plans for the trip due to my blistered skin. Being GF is no joke. The server Juan Pedro was well versed in gluten free menu items and recommended several dishes. Trust me, it was an amazing tapa meal and following his advice was a win, win! I have had some hit and misses in my journey and this is a hit! When you find yourself in Soller, this is a restaurant you need to seek.
