This is one of my new favorite places. After reading reviews online to find a place to get my first…read moretattoo, this spot stood out above the rest, by a long shot. I was a little nervous, not sure how to make an appointment, cost, the process but I told myself, if I walk in and I am welcomed with open arms and they don't giggle at me for having zero tattoos, I would do it. Kolby and group greeted me openly, I asked my newby questions, and poof, appointment on the books (with a deposit). Now I seriously want to come here everyday and get new ink, I am not kidding, I have to hold myself back. I appreciate how clean and fun this place is and they are extremely talented, kind of what you want in tattoo artists. Kolby has rocked my experiences/tattoos off the chart and both times walking me through his process as I needed. He is an excellent support with his positive and funny banter and thoughtfulness (getting me his coat to cover up since my tattoos have been on my rib cage/chest area). He is also an excellent artist, I lucked out on this find. I seriously don't have enough positive words to share that can showcase the amazing experiences and high quality of work. Let me say this to all the non-tattooed people that want to be tattooed but are scared, like I was, do it here! Just go. You will be smiling from ear-to-ear that you finally did it.... And then you too can battle the urge, like I do, to come here everyday to hang out with fun people and get new ink. (Tattooed people too, come here, duh!)

I just returned and the greeting was the same! Everyone was awesome! The way they treat people is exactly how you want to be treated and it was amazing seeing them interact with someone getting their first tattoo as well as people getting just another tattoo. They are respectful, courteous and very knowledgeable. Huge shoutout to Weston for doing an amazing job! I can't wait to be back. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great tattoo experience!

Justin is an incredible artist, friendly, accommodating, patient, and so creative. He gave three of…read moreus our first tattoos. Two were Justin's artwork, designed after consulting with us: a griffin launching off a rock in the ocean (took 3 hours to tattoo), and a set of specific flowers (magnolia, sunflower, borage, and chamomile) growing from a port scar (1 hour). One was created from custom artwork of our own (30 minutes, and it came out completely true to the original drawing). I won't lie, there are varying levels of pain involved, but Justin put us at ease and helped us get through it. And it's totally worth it. Our 17yo kid found devotion, having searched extensively for a shop with talented artists and impeccable safety/hygiene practices. We walked in without appointments, and left completely thrilled with Justin's work.

Six of my seven tattoos were done 20 years ago at Black Cat Tattoo by an artist named Mike, who is…read morenow with another shop. I have had nothing but compliments on them over the years, and they have held up very well for their age. Mike had recommended I go to Sean, if he ever wasn't around, or if there was something he knew Sean would do better. Recently, I had a piece that didn't turn out so well after healing, not to mention the fact that my first experience with an artist from a shop that was NOT Black Cat could only be described as unprofessional (Bad attitude, bad work ethic, and ultimately, a bad tattoo). This shop was in WA, where I live now. I decided to go see Sean, when I was in town for Christmas. Sean completely revived this piece and breathed new life into it. It looks better than it ever did to begin with. He even came in on his day off to accommodate my being there from out of town. The level of customer service and the quality of work I receive(d) at Black Cat Tattoo is a night and day difference from the other place. It's been that way for over 20 years at Black Cat and I cannot recommend them enough. If you want quality work from an artist that cares, go see Sean at Black Cat Tattoo.

5 for artistic ability, 1 for business practices…read more I did a half sleeve with Kiera. She quoted me $850 in July. Because of budget and time constraints, I wanted to sit for several sessions to get it done. There was not a single session where she was on time. One session she was half an hour late for, one session, scheduled for 2:30, she was an hour and a half late, arriving just after 4. She told me at that session she'd knock $50 bucks off for her tardiness... but two sessions later, she told me the overall cost was going to go over what she had originally quoted me... so that hour and a half fell on me and she took zero consequences for. In the end, the half sleeve cost me $1150. Several sessions had to be rescheduled, including twice for Covid exposure and awaiting test results (even though I've received same day, 20 minutes later results from Primary Health before). The last session was scheduled for 7pm and she emailed at 4:45 saying she was free now and asking if I could come in early. She doesn't seem to place any value on her customers' schedule or time. Her art is excellent. There are several more pieces I'm considering, some I discussed with her, so I'm really disappointed I can't rely on her business practices... that'll lead me to go elsewhere for any further work I want to have done. The extra $300 she made and the time of mine she spent cost her potentially significantly more. Disappointed in the experience, but at least the work is good to look at.

The shop is incredibly clean and beautifully decorated with amazing paintings. I scheduled my appointment many months ago through Wendy. Although we had never met, I felt like we had always been friends. She's so fun and always has a smile for clients when they come in. I met with Tony Adamson and we discussed ideas of how to work with my existing work to create a flowing back piece. It required some cover-ups, which was a bit of a challenge, but the end result was absolutely outstanding. Tony is truly one of the best artists I've ever known! I traveled from San Francisco to have him finish my back and I couldn't be happier that I did. I'll be back for more!! Thank-you Tony for making me feel like a living piece of one of a kind, fine art. Not only are you amazingly talented, you're also really fun to work with.
