Errandipity offers a classy service-business approach that brings convenience to people's lives... and the soul of this business, Gayle Quinn, redefines "business with a heart". Gayle came through for me big time with a holiday errand delivering a happiness-package to my mother while I was on the other side of the country. How often have you found a genuine warmness from someone you hardly know? How many people out there offer the generosity of their time, communicate well, and act unselfishly without emphasis on a proportional financial reward? Gayle is all these things and more.... Sometimes you find some vintage stereo equipment other times you find vintage cameras. Sometimes you wind up grabbing a couple of cassette tapes or a pair of pants. Quite a variety. The lady running the place is quite friendly as well.

They have a decent mix of the two things you are apt to find in downtown Anchorage gift shops: 1) Wildly underpriced goods (magnets, t-shirts, bookmarks, wall art, etc.) made in China. 2) Very spendy items (soaps, salves, syrups, carvings, etc.) made in Alaska by Alaskans. This is my Mom's favorite downtown gift shop. The clothing and stuffed animal sections here are particularly massive. Though you aren't going to find any technical/pragmatic/outdoor clothing, this is all chiefly gear to let folks in the lower 48 know that you've been to Alaska. If you're a local, the advantage of going here is to see all the various Alaska-made goods in one place, so you can go patronize those individuals and companies directly.
