Ernie's Cab is reliable and cheap! There aren't many Lyft and Uber drivers in this area. Those apps were useless on our Mt. Kisco trip.

My 92-year-old,legally blind mother used this service weekly for more than a year. She needed it, among other things, for a 3-mile ride (15 minutes) from her house in Yorktown to Croton. Ernie's charged her $87 roundtrip! My sister, who pays her bills, just recently discovered the charges. We researched another taxi service, which charges $40 for the same trip. When I asked for a refund, the owner said it was too late--he already paid his drivers. It's devastating to learn that my mother, a widow on a fixed income, was charged more than $3,500 in the last pandemic year! I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and to ABC-TV's consumer advocate. read more

Terrible service. I work at target and they always tell me they have taxis. I even call 10 minutes ahead. HOW ARE YOU STILL LATE WHEN I CALL 10 MINUTES AHEAD. I miss almost every train anytime I work with them. I really wanna call him and give him a piece of my mind because its truly not fair. But what's the point? At the end of the day he still gets paid. I'm never using this number or service again and if I ever call him again it would be to curse him out for all the bull shit he has put me through. I am currently writing this while waiting for one of his taxis, even though I've already missed my train. I'm gonna call another service, and Ernie better hope to high heaven that I never see him. I use Ernie's taxi service to get to work. I had a driver pick me up and call me a disrespectful name because there was traffic. It's nit my fault there was traffic. He told me it was a terrible time to call a taxi. I needed to be at work at a certain time. It is his job to drive people. I felt uncomfortable during the ride to work. female driver in black honda dropped someone off, parked in front of handicap ramp, and exited the taxi. I asked her 3 times to move away from the handicap ramp so a patient with a walker could use the ramp, and she refused. The 4th time I explained my mother uses a walker, just got out of the hospital, is 96, and needs to see her doctor. I told her she was rude and inconsiderate for blocking the handicap, and she yelled at me for yelling at her. She finally moved to between the 2 entrances, and left her car in the way of traffic and people dropping patients off. I believe blocking a handicap ramp is illegal, but she cared only about her personal convenience. Is this the inconsiderate driver you want in your service? read more

Very poorly organized and coordinated car service. late pick-up, drivers who drive erratically/unsafely, are consistently late without any warning. Unwilling to rectify their mistakes. Dirty personal cars with trash/food wrappers in some of the vehicles with stains on the seats. Absolutely recommend ANY other car service if there is one available, or another mode of transportation. Try Yorkie's limos and taxi. They are 100% reliable, consistent, helpful, clean, and drive safely. read more

The worst taxi service I have ever used- absolutely abominable service. Would rather walk an hour out of my way than use Ernie's again.

I had called them for a rate and was quoted $13. A couple of the other companies quoted $14. So I had them go pick up my husband. I didn't have time to call my husband and tell him it was $13. They charged him $18. When I called the phone guy said he'd have to speak to the driver. He never called me back. The following weekend I called them for their address to go over there. They gave me the address of a nail salon. I found one of the guys by the Mt Kisco train station who claimed to be a relative and he gave me a number with a vm that was full and argued that the $18 was a fair price ignoring that $13 was quoted. read more

I have been a frequent user of Ernie's since I moved to the area. My experience is that they have been affordable and always prompt. I highly recommend them for getting around from A to B locally. They also now have an app which is super convenient! read more

I called to get a taxy home from a bar minutes from their location. The operator said "We're busy". I didn't understand, so I told him again where I was, he responded with "I'm busy" and hung up. Will never use this company again. read more

My daughter had a babysitting job on New Year's Eve and not only did Ernie's Taxi was there to pick her up on time at 2:10am they were courteous and respectful! What an awesome ride she felt safe and got to the Metronorth on time to make her train! I use them on a regular basis but this time I consider them as my private use! Avoid this car service! We had been customers of Ernie's since 1993. In general the service has been fine. Earlier this week was a disaster! We had a 6:40 am flight from Newark. With no traffic on an early morning we should easily have gotten to Newark in an hour and five minutes from Mount Kisco. The driver had no idea where he was going. Twice he had to pullover to check his GPS for directions. He went down the Henry Hudson Parkway then over the George Washington Bridge then inexplicably out route 80 W. We told him he was going the wrong way and he then got on the Garden State Parkway. However, he was only on that for a few minutes and then inexplicably got on route 21. That took us through downtown Newark and killed us. We ended up getting to the airport at exactly 6 AM, A full 25 to 30 minutes later than we should have gotten there. We were closed out on the flight. We were then rebooked on a flight for 6 PM tonight, However we were told to try to get on standby flights throughout the day. We tried standby flights at eight, 11, one, and three, but they were all full. We finally took off at 6:20, nearly 12 hours after we were supposed to. So, the four of us missed an entire day of our vacation. We got zero value of the $1500 that we had prepaid for our accommodations where we were going that day. We had to spend the entire day in the Newark airport eating crappy airport food, With nothing to do. Thus far they have not offered any compensation. read more

Arrived at the train station late on a Friday night and there was not 1 taxi in sight. Called up a bunch of taxi and dispatch companies, all of them were unwilling to help and said that their cabs were half an hour to and hour out. Used Ernie's as a transport for my teenage son who needed to be at a meeting at 3:30pm. Was told that pickup would be at 3:15pm and that the cost of the ride would be $10. Car arrived to house at 3:35, driver was using cellphone to the point where my son was worried about the driver's performance and twice asked him to refrain from using the phone. Price charged to my son on arrival was $14 as opposed to the $10 quoted when arranging the car. Unprofessional on every level. I will make sure that no one I know uses this service. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. I asked the restaurant that I was finishing dinner at to call me a cab. The dispatcher stated they would arrive in 10 minutes. Forty minutes later, the cab showed up to take me to a hotel that was 12 minutes away via highway. The driver took all local roads and got me to my hotel 40 minutes after he picked me up. When I asked what the charge was he asked for $50.00. I said why is it $50.00 and he stated "I picked you up at night." When I explained that a different cab company who also picked me up at night charged me $37.50, he stated "talk to my boss." I talked to his boss whio couldn't provide me with a reason why local roads were used and told me the charge after 11:30 PM is $10.00 more. I would accept that if it was after 11:30 PM. They were called at 10:40 PM, showed up at 11:10Pm and by the time I got to the hotel, it was after 11:30 PM. The owner of the company told me I have the right to complain but the charge is the charge. read more
