If my wife and I could give this service zero stars, we would. Erin Stein/Taub is dishonest and unprofessional, and the manner in which she conducts her business reflects these qualities. She breached her own contract with us and refused to return our $2,000 referral fee even though she admitted that she would not keep her end of the bargain. I strongly believe (and have reason to believe) that she acted in bad faith on numerous occasions during our contractual relationship. Use literally any other nanny referral service/agency.
I strongly believe that Erin used the time-sensitive nature of our situation against us, and that she purposely referred to us one of her more difficult-to-place nannies.
When it became clear that the nanny that she referred to us, and who we hired, was not going to work out, we gave the nanny 3 weeks' notice before her termination date. Her termination date was within a "guarantee period" provided for in Erin's contract.
We let Erin know that we would be terminating the nanny she placed with us and that, in accordance with the guarantee provision, we would need her to send us new nanny candidates. She flatly refused. When I objected that the contract provided for precisely such additional referrals in our circumstances, she lied and said that she would promptly refund our referral fee of $2,000. She has not, to date, returned the money, and we are suing her in small claims court to get it back. We filed our suit against her only AFTER she refused our offer to drop the whole matter if she simply returned our fee. On top of all that, after we gave the nanny her 3 weeks' notice, I have reason to believe that Erin coerced the nanny into quitting unexpectedly 1 week sooner than we had agreed. My wife and I then had to scramble to find childcare for the period before our new nanny started (we both work full-time).
Through my very negative experience with Erin and her company, it's become more than clear that she does not deserve your business, nor anyone else's. Erin, it's time to hang it up. read more
