Erin is a fantastic practitioner. For either (or both!) acupuncture or massage, she is skilled, kind and compassionate. Highly recommend.

Kathleen is BACK!!!…read more My search for an LMT that is professional, listened, and knew how to treat the aches/pain/stiffness ended when I found Kathleen years ago. Then she took a break and my journey to find a new LMT was very difficult. If you've had a few bad massages, you know the pain isn't just physical. It can also affect you mentally/physically. I felt like I could get no relief and had to start acupuncture and PT (both are great) but always felt something missing (and my achy neck/shoulders/back is a constant reminder). So I was overjoyed (to tears amidst childlike giddiness) to stumble on Kathleen's reopening of Simple Gifts and in my fave little Old Town EC. Kathleen takes the time to understand your specific needs, comfort level, preferences, and any quirks. She takes the time to get acquainted thus giving you the best massage experience. And when I say that she takes the time, she does NOT take it out of your scheduled massage time! You get the time you booked. No one else has helped me feel so relaxed, sleep better, fall asleep while getting a massage and even have a wonderful emotional experience while being massaged. Pure bliss and enjoyment of letting all that -ish go. You know that knot that you just can't seem to get to and no one else seems to hit it either? Kathleen pinpoints it and all you can do is let out a wonderful sigh of "Ahhhh, that's the spot". The new location is the old Quiet Time Hypnosis, so it is comfortable and quiet in old town EC. So it is across the hall from the previous location if you've been years ago. There isn't heavy scents to cause allergic reactions, excessive oiliness, eccentricity or any of that. It is a cozy, simple, relaxing, and comfortable environment. If you like it warmer or cooler; dimmer/brighter, etc, simply ask. Kathleen is truly an expert and has the most skilled talents to get to the knots and work them out. And she listens!!! I highly recommend Kathleen as she is a truly gifted LMT and wonderful human!

Their broad options and services keep the experience fresh. I've been happy with everyone if the staff. They are kind and professional. The office itself is a bit confusing to get to, but thankfully the office texts with specific directions on how to get inside, and there is lots of signage to make sure you end up in the right place. Once inside, I had to wait about 10 minutes past my appointment time to be taken into the back. During this time one of the masseuses walked by carrying her dog, so that was a bit strange and made me question the sanitary conditions of the offices. Once walked back to my room, they told me to undress except for my underwear and lay on the table, then they left. The masseuse was knocking on the door 30 seconds later, so I felt a bit rushed and stressed, but she waited for confirmation to come in. She asked if I prefer medium or hard pressure, and I also let her know some areas I would like extra attention on. She made sure to focus on those areas and worked quickly for the 30 min massage. At some points she was up on the table straddling my head with her legs, which was weird. She also adjusted my underwear to be lower when she applied lotion to my back and didn't say anything beforehand, so it felt a bit uncomfortable because I didn't know what she was doing. In general it wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but there were some things that shocked me a bit. For the low price, I would still consider returning.

I had Sciatic pain and Piriformis syndrome in my right leg for months. I went to the doctor and…read moretried numerous types of physical therapy but it didn't get better. I decided to try acupuncture and specifically looked for an acupuncturist trained in China. I had tried acupuncture before for migraines and the Western trained doc didn't help at all but the Chinese trained doc I tried after worked wonders but is now retired. After the first treatment I noticed a significant improvement and after four treatments I was almost 100 percent. It took a while for full recovery because we had to find the cause but we did and I am now without pain and have full mobility. Dr. Ma is kind and gentle and didn't hurt me with the needles. Her office is clean and relaxing. If you are in pain call Dr. Ma, she probably can help.

I found Dr. Ma on yelp, made an appointment, and after a few treatments the pain was finally gone. She did acupuncture followed by cupping and massage and performed a miracle. I had been in pain for so long with this and it was finally gone. I always tell her she has 'magic hands' and have gone to her for many other issues since. I'm very active and she helps keep me in shape. Because of her background as a medical doctor as well as acupuncturist, she knows instantly where to place the needles and/or do any cupping to relieve the pain and speed up the healing. In addition to all this, Dr. Ma is a wonderful, caring, and kind person and I feel so lucky to have found her!
