Pretty awesome park when it comes to parks as the space is here to basically do whatever you want…read moreas it's seriously huge enough that many can enjoy it and not feel crowded! We came here with a group to hangout and enjoy some of what's one of the warmer nights here recently this was my first time coming here and I was surprised how big it was so much so I didn't even venture through all of it as there's a bunch of places to go here. They have 2 playgrounds from what I can see as well as some huge open grass areas for you to play some games on as well as run free to do whatever you like. There were also numerous covered areas for those group picnics everyone wants to have when it warms up a bit which is always awesome in its own fun way of summer living when it's that easy! The park was awesome in it's own way it's for that I'm sure I'll come back again at some point because who doesn't love a good park visit!

Watched high school soccer games (though it was perhaps more about watching the running boys). Went to school picnics here. My mom still volunteers here. Osborn Park is a Sandusky/ Erie County staple. Last summer, my high school class held a 15 year reunion and the first place I suggested for a family picnic was Osborn Park. Shelter rental is really easy----and available online. The website shows availability for a month for all shelters, afternoon or evening slots. Prices remain unbelievably affordable---$33 for county residents, $43 for out-of-county (more for the enclosed shelter). It's nearly effortless to set up a picnic. The one drawback is that the fee is non-refundable if you cancel your event, though it might be transferable to another date. Nevertheless, if you are looking for to host a reunion (class or family), graduation party, etc., then I'd recommend Osborn Park. Plenty of seating in shelters, fields for games, courts for basketball or tennis and playgrounds. I can't imagine a Sandusky resident who hasn't been to Osborn Park. It's part of the community.

The price for a family suit on a Wednesday with 4 passes to the water park is very reasonable. Upon arrival check in was simple and went pretty quickly. You are allowed to start your fun before the room is ready, which is good because the waterpark closes at 8 and opens at 10 am. You can also continue to play after check out. We found this very nice because you wouldn't get much time to play if not. Our room was ready early but our bands didn't open our room so they gave us new ones. The girls working were friendly and helped us sort it out quickly. We were disappointed to find hair in both of our beds. We called and requested fresh bedding because we wanted to get playing. They never came but they did give us a new room, also with hair on the sheets. Our cleaning person came in and we watched her replace the pillowcases with clean right off the cart and guess what? Still hair! This is a laundry issue but we were relieved to know it wasn't because our beds were dirty. This was our only negative issue. Our room was clean and spacious. The pull out sofa wasn't the most comfy but we were so wore out we slept well. The Waterpark wasn't very crowded and it was very fun for our boys! My grandson said he felt like a VIP and they will both remember this fun time. The workers keep a very good eye on things. We felt safe. There's a Dunkin Donuts in the lobby and you can order on an app which I recommend because I ordered at the kiosk and waited 30 mins for 2 coffees. ($9) I would recommend ordering ahead and pick it up when you get a text to save waiting too long. We brought in snacks and drinks to our room. We had a fridge but no microwave. Overall we all agree it was a great time and we will return. The kids loved everything and they said their review is "great"!

The kiosk check in process was a breeze, and I LOVE that water park wristbands double as room keys because it's one less thing to worry about losing. The onsite Dunkin offered good food at reasonable prices. The drinks were really good and felt like they justified their price because they were huge. The hotel rooms were very nice. The arcade was nice, and provided a good variety of games. The bad: Paying for parking is a huge turn-off. It's $20 per day just to park in an ordinary parking lot, which seems like an excessive charge that the resort knows it can get away with because people have to park. Strategies like that feel like they're trying to squeeze every nickel and dime out of patrons. The water park, itself, isn't great. There's two nice-sized tube slides and some very short body slides. The lazy river is also very short and filled with empty tubes in a way that feels claustrophobic. The hot tubs are nice. But it just doesn't feel like there's anything particularly exciting to do. Once you've been down the slides a few times and checked out the hot tubs, that's mostly it unless you're a little kid (there's a few activities that are geared for young kids). Overall: If you want a good resort experience, you can get it here. If you want a good water park experience, you've got much better options nearby.

For the amount of money you pay, you should be getting way more. The place is old and run down…read more(from what it used to be) and the nickle and diming is unreal. We booked a two room suite with kitchen (due to dietary restrictions which Kalahari cannot accommodate). I had reached out to get a list of items provided in the kitchen to know what I would need to pack in order to prepare a dinner and breakfast for 6 people. The following are items in the unit versus what was supposed to be provided. - 4 steak knives, not 6 - 8 spoons, not 12 - 6 forks, not 12 - 11 knives, not 12 - No whisk (I was making a salad dressing, so I did need this and did not pack one) - 10 dinner plates, not 12 - 4 coffee mugs, not 6 - No kitchen towels (I had to use a bathing towel to place all of our washed dishes, and another for drying) - No dishwasher detergent (I planned to run it before we left, but there wasn't anything available). My guess is this is why dishes were so dirty. If guests cannot run the dishwasher, housekeeping probably has to do this in addition to their other chores. In addition, the one pot we used (I brought my own stock pot, large pan, and colander), the glass lid was disgusting, so we washed that. We also hand washed everything else we needed before using it since the cleanliness was lacking. I should have taken a pic, but we were hungry and I wanted to get dinner started. The dining table had a film on it, like it had not been properly cleaned in a while. Fortunately we packed Chlorox wipes and wiped down everything we planned on using. And the jets in the tub had noticable mold (pic of one, but all jets were dirty. And I didn't seek this out, it was visible while sitting on the toilet. I mentioned it to two other people and they had already noticed it as well). I know this may sound picky, but we didn't seek to find anything gross or look any further than obvious things we were using. So I imagine there was more dirtiness we didn't see. For the price per night, we expected to have all listed items and basic cleanliness. This will probably be our last trip to Kalahari as the quality has gone down, prices up, and so much nickle and diming.

Maintenance crew did a good job. Dugouts were clean and well maintained. Small bleacher areas at almost all fields. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. There's a ropes course, putt putt golf, and nice playground on site. There are several nice batting cages. Rules about behavior for adults and kids are strict. Bad news... Umps were late a couple of times, frustrating when teams are ready to play on time. The tourney tshirt vendor was out of popular shirt sizes on day 1. (Sports Force probably has little, or no, control over these two things). Biggest complaint is that the posted rules say no coolers, no outside food or drinks - not even water. When you come to the field to stay for half a day or more, it stinks to pay $7 for a slice of pizza and $5 for a bottle of water, especially considering the $11 per day entry fee and steep price to enter a team to play here. With the allowance of outside food and water, this place would easily get 5 stars. Great place to play!

Unfortunately it was cold and rainy so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor waterpark, but that didn't matter to the kids, who marveled at the towering water slides and play areas. The whole place was very clean, nothing like Great Wolf Lodge. Customer service was great everywhere we went. Like any theme park these days, EVERYTHING is monetized, and everything is VERY expensive. Nothing is complimentary, and there's no breakfast or fresh coffee in the morning for free. The room itself was... fine. We got a suite so the size was nice and the beds were clean and comfy, but the bathroom is bizarre. First, there is no fan in the toilet area. HUGE no-no and seems like an easy fix. Second, the sink is outside of the bathroom. I can see how if you have multiple people getting ready this could speed things up, but without a fan blocking some of the, ahem, noise, it makes things supremely awkward. The rooms could use a makeover/upgrade, but the facility overall is quite nice and huge.

I called a week prior to confirm everything was ok with my reservation, day of I preregistered about 3pm (check in starts at 4pm), then went through most of check in at the desk as I bought gift cards in advance. They checked me in and charged the cards then realized the 2 bed 2 bath suite I booked wasn't there due to a recent system update a month prior. They downgraded me to a 2 queen sofa and refunded the difference onto gift cards. First offered the wrong amount. This took 3 staff including a manager about 40 minutes and we weren't offered anything extra like a free bag or towel. I was afraid to ask as I was worried they'd penalize me or would mess it up and charge me. The room was on the far point of the hotel, window was open with no screen, and a broken window sill. There was only one ice water station other than water fountains throughout the conference center. The con center was far colder than the resort side (needed a jacket). Now I will say the parking was well managed, they had plenty of staff directing parking. The lazy river was closed most of our stay and I wasn't allowed to ride Dawn Breaker. They said it's cause I'm under 100lbs, but I was a 2nd rider not single as the posted guidelines only said single riders needed to be at least 100lbs. Early check out again for congoers (10 instead of 11am). The waterpark was at least clean. Some rides were closed, but not too long other than the lazy river. Room was also clean. Bottles were tamper proof for peace of mind. Microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker in room. Overall the stay was ok, but not great.
