Why don't I go here more? I have no idea, but it isn't the fault of the library. It is great, I need to go more.

Do you have information and or pictures of the mines in ERie in 1948/49? I lived there in a mining camp around that time and would to see any information you may have in the library.

Greetings! The Erie Community Library doesn't keep an archive of this sort of information presently, however the Erie Historical Society…

I had a very disappointing experience at the library today…read more I was printing a large set of documents when the printer jammed. I'm a teacher, so I'm very familiar with these exact printers and know how to clear a paper jam. However, I also understand that many businesses prefer employees to handle jams themselves to avoid damage, so I went to the front desk and politely said, "Hey, I just jammed the printer. Could someone help me?" The employee's response was simply, "So?" I honestly just stared at her because I couldn't believe it. I said, "I can unjam it, I guess," and she replied, "No, no." I then asked what would happen to my print job since it stopped in the middle of printing. I had already loaded $20 onto my printing card because I was printing a large number of documents. I wasn't worried about a few cents--I just wanted to know if the print job would resume or if I would have to send everything through again and be charged twice. Instead of answering my question, she laughed and said, "We'll refund your pennies." The issue was never about the money. It was about getting a simple question answered and being treated with basic respect. Her comment was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. To make matters even more frustrating, it took nearly 40 minutes before I was able to finish printing my documents. As someone who has worked with these same printers for years in a school setting, I know a typical paper jam can usually be cleared and the printer back up and running in just a few minutes. Waiting that long wouldn't have bothered me nearly as much if someone had communicated what was going on or treated me with courtesy. I understand that machines malfunction. What I don't understand is treating patrons with sarcasm and dismissiveness when they're simply asking for help. Customer service costs nothing, and unfortunately this experience was one of the rudest I've had at a library.

The Longmont Public Library is an excellent modern city-sized library for a small town. It's always…read moreclean, well-staffed, inviting, eventful, quiet, and organized. The express check-out kiosks for books was a new thing for me, being an old-school lover of old libraries. But it was great! As a mom, I LOVE love the children's wing. The rest of this review will focus on the children's wing only because this is the part of the library where I spend the most time. Fostering a love of reading in a child is important to me, so I was impressed by all the things she can do there. There are well-kept computer stations, a dedicated desk for questions, toys, a working-model scale train exhibit (the zinger that got my kid through their doors), plenty of picture books in front, a private room for events, nooks and corners with pillows for reading, a bilingual reading area, and lovingly-made murals and book comparison charts. There is even a puppet playhouse and comfy couches for parents/adults who like to read while their child roams the shelves. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. I also love the younger kids who volunteer there. There are read-alouds and events for kids during the year, so it's never boring. Lastly, I'm a fan of the books-for-sale section right when you walk through the inner library doors. I always find an interesting book, and for a dollar or two, it's always a great read. Come visit. It's a great investment of your time, brain and dollars.

We have a fantastic library here in Broomfield. It's much more well laid out than any of the…read morelibraries in Jefferson County. Children's books, new releases, and movies and audio books are downstairs where you enter. Adult and YA books are upstairs, along with magazines and large print. (Mystery and biography also have their own sections.) Staff is friendly and helpful. The selection of books is rather impressive, with ebooks also available. Check out for books is for 21 days and you can renew books once as long as they aren't overdue yet. (It is very easy to renew books online.) Fines for overdue books are 10 cents per day; DVDs are much more expensive and have a much shorter check out (a week, I think). If you can't find what you're looking for, the Boulder and Louisville libraries are in the same system. Their holdings do show in catalog searches unless you specify otherwise. If you still don't see what you're after, the system allows you to search Prospector, the inter library loan system for Colorado and, apparently, Wyoming. Believe me when I say you can find almost any book. There are several computers upstairs (2 hours of time allowed per day and if you have a library card you get 50 cents towards print jobs, which are 10 cents per page for black and white; color is more expensive, 50 cents I think). Free wifi also available. The only drawback is that books may be on hold with quite a wait list if they're popular. (But we have such an awesome library precisely because we have a reading community, so it's not really a drawback.) They do have a few 'lucky day' copies of some popular titles that are not allowed to be held or renewed to help with that. They are also crowded on weekends; don't come in at 3 pm on Sunday and expect to be certain of jumping on a computer or having a chair. Better to arrive when they open both Saturday and Sunday. No crowds on weeknights though.

Went there for the first time this week. Looks like most of their kids classes are upstairs. They…read morehave a good space for little kids. Lots of toys. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back.
