This library is located next to the Erie Community Center. It has a large parking lot. The library is part of the High Plains Library and because of that you have access to a huge network where you can also request books from that can be delivered at this library for pickup. In addition, they have free wifi. I usually come in with my laptop and connect, although there have been a few times when I needed to use their computers. There is seating through out the library, either in chairs or in tables where you can sit, study or work. You can also reserve some of the smaller closed study/meeting rooms. The library has also movies and music that you can borrow and they host events. When my children were small we used to attend many of their events, including storytime, and small concerts/plays. I do not know what the events look like post pandemic, so check their schedule. At the entrance of the library you can also find many community announcements, and also free puzzles you can borrow or free magazines. Overall it is a nice library, and an excellent experience. read more

This is a fantastic place to relax, read a magazine, see beautiful park-like surroundings, or enjoy a nice warm fireside read. Love the place so much that I come here on vacation!!! Go next-door for a workout or to use the jacuzzi in the community center! Easy walk to downtown Erie AND the bus stop is right outside!! read more

I love libraries, so it pains me to give this place a 1 star review, but being a traveling businessman I do occasionally need to communicate with my corporate office and I find that stopping in a local library allows me to do so, that is until I came here. The internet connection here is heavily regulated and restrictive, this might be fine for your average person that only reads their personal email or trolls Facebook or mind numbingly watches Youtube all day, but when I cant connect to my corporate office, thats bad. Also the floor under this place is hollow and made a loud reverberating sound as I walked, so unless you want to be Godzilla rampaging through downtown Tokyo you need to tip toe throughout the whole building, you also need to be careful where you walk since there are many weird little vents all over the floor. read more

Terrific space, don't know if folks in Erie know how good they've got it. Terrific staff, lots of room to spread out, a comprehensive periodical area with fireplace(!!), easy parking, and right next to the Erie Rec Center, another gem. Why go anywhere else? Also, since Erie is part of the High Plains district with a smaller population, there seems to be less time needed to have requested cds, dvds and books sent to your library for pick up. This is a top notch library, and for me is easily the best part about living in Erie. It's part of the High Plains District Library, which has an excellent website. They have an extensive search system, and you can request books from any library to be sent to the library of your choice. You can place holds, manage your account, see what books you have out and when they're due, and request extensions. There are lots of ebooks through OverDrive. I think I spend more time online than actually at the library! The library itself is always clean and quiet. Lots of little study cubbies, and even a 'living room' to sit and read. They have rooms to rent out, and frequently have very interesting events going on. There is a little display shelf in the entrance that always has the most beautiful featured artwork in it. The best part for me is the check out section. I always wanted to be a librarian, and I think half of that desire was based on the fact that I would get to scan books. Their system takes it a step further. All I have to do is scan my card (conveniently on my keychain), drop all of my books (I can't leave with less than three!) on the fancy scanning device and it scans all of them all at once! I know, I'm very easily entertained, but I grew up going to libraries where they stamped a little card in the back of the book. Technology is amazing! If you have a hard time getting to the library when it's open, there's a fancy little option where you can arrange to pick up your books in an exterior locker. They also have a drive up drop off bin. My only complaints are trivial. I think the drive up drop off bin is too high for my little coupe (I always end up having to get out of the car anyway) and the main doors are surprisingly heavy, and they, too, have ridiculously high bars for pushing/pulling, and I am not short. Yes, there's a handicap access button, but I always feel like I'm cheating when I use that. read more

This is a decent, still fairly new, library. It could definitely stand to be a little bigger, although I expect with the economy they haven't been able to stock more books, etc as quickly as they like. Movie selection is more lacking, although it hasn't been a big deal since we also do Netflix. We also have been able to request items within their library district. We like their children's area- lots of books and lots to play with. It isn't frowned upon that kids make some noise in this area too (not that it's rowdy) which is great for us. They also have Storytime sessions for kids you can sign up for (it's free) and that's pretty good. One issue I've had several times now is they'll restock an item I've returned but don't register it in the computer. The computer has claimed that I have something overdue, but we'll (between an employee and myself) have to find it on the shelf to fix the issue. They've been nice about it each time and haven't tried to claim that I'm lying about returning it or something. Perhaps that means this happens a lot? I'd love to see them expand their hours a bit; Sundays they aren't open very long and weekends are really the best time for us to go. I'm sure this is also a product of the economy. read more

I LOVE this library. It is so easy to reserve books, etc. online and pick them up on hold. The staff is friendly and says hello (especially if they recognize you) and will help you find whatever you need. I'm so excited to experience the library as a parent in the near future. :) read more

Heaven on earth! I have been coming to this library ever since they opened and lured me away from Lafayette's biblioteca. Great space, albeit a bit too open since people don't corral their rugrats. Books a-plenty. I am a heavy user, addicted to the written word. Book requests from other libraries arrive quickly. Love it here- I would not mind being locked in overnight, especially if they left the fireplace on. read more

This is the first library we have gone to, regularly. This is mainly because we have had such good experiences here. We have done storytime a couple yrs ago, when my child was little, and haven't tried any other programs since. The staff is helpful & everything is user-friendly. read more

I live in Longmont and I go out of my way to come to this beautiful rural library. It is clean, quiet, and there are always computers available! This library is MUCH quieter than the one in Longmont. Besides, the Erie Library has soft, comfortable chairs, free printing and all of the amenities one could want. This is one special place! read more

This is an excellent community library. It is a perfect place for a young family to stop by after spending some time at the community center across campus or the day at the ball field across the street in summer months. We have found that as our children get a bit older (late elementary and early middle school) the selection of level appropriate non-fiction and reference books available for reports of any sort is pretty limited. But, all around a tremendous asset to Erie! read more
