Eric Layman, Evidential Medium began as a private mediumship practice in Cincinnati, Ohio, offering one-to-one sittings for clients seeking connection and guidance. In 2019, the practice expanded to include teaching, with courses and mentorships in mediumship and psychic development.
Eric trained directly under Mavis Pittilla, one of the most respected voices in evidential mediumship, and is an Authorized Mavis Pittilla Teacher, certified to teach her Whole Medium Approach. Today, the practice serves clients internationally through private sittings, small classes, masterclasses, and mentorship, all grounded in evidence, ethics, and practical skill-building rather than performance.
Meet the Business Owner: Eric L.
I grew up in rural Ohio and saw spirit people as a child, which was sometimes frightening and not something my family encouraged.
It took me years to understand what was happening, and longer still to learn how to work with it properly. I began studying seriously in 2012. In 2018 I started training with Mavis Pittilla, and spent five years learning from her and from her partner, Jean Else. What Mavis taught me was a standard more than a method: stay honest, stay specific, and never let comfort take the place of real evidence.
I began teaching in 2019. What I care about most is the moment a student stops asking me to confirm what they are sensing and starts trusting it themselves. I have watched that happen hundreds of times, and it is the reason I keep teaching.
This work is learnable. It is not about being special.
