I wasn't ready for a full meal, but opted for what turned out to be probably the best dessert I've had since arriving in the United Kingdom a week prior. I ordered the berry and apple pie and one of the sisters recommended adding a hot creamy custard over the top. It was pure heaven along with a pot of traditional tea. They make all of their desserts from scratch, and make them with pride and great skill and elegance. This place is definitely a slice of heaven on earth, and a place not to overlook if you find yourself in the area.

Star of the show was a row of incredible looking home made cakes, included quite possibly the largest lemon meringue I've ever seen. There were also some very nice looking takeaway meals including curries and the like. The only let down was the 'cutlery', i.e. the cheap plastic knives and forks. My fork actually melted inside my sausage roll, which admittedly was very hot, and my knife began to break into pieces which meant I had to fish tiny bits of plastic out of my food before I could eat it.

I made it clear I was happy to take full responsibility, but they still refused and blamed it on food standards. That's a poor excuse. Many places manage to cater for people with allergies while still allowing them to make informed choices. Instead, I was treated like a liability rather than a customer. It's incredibly frustrating and left me feeling excluded and judged. Places like this should do better.

The building is bright and colourful and reminded me of a lovely blue farmhouse. The brightness carries through to the inside where there's a number of paintings on the walls. I had to go for an old favourite - the chai latte - and whilst they're often overloaded with sweetness owing to an unpleasant amount of syrup, this was a delightful savoury and wholesome chai rendition. If you craved some sweetness, sugar did the trick. If not, enjoy! No syrupy sickening sweetness, not a drop. Hurrah for the chai latte in its natural form. Good job, Conwy Falls!
