Dentists and hygienists are technically top notch, and all are very good at explaining the clinical situation, patient options, etc. Also, they are very good at the science and art of general dentistry, i.e. no pain during procedures. Office staff know the processes regarding dental insurance - which is not something to take for granted; also, very accomodating on scheduling, re-scheduling and text messaging or e-mailing you appointment reminders/confirmation. I called Welcome Dental and they accepted my insurance so I decided to give them a shot since they are close. I get there for my cleaning appointment and they recommend this 360 degree xray of your teeth. When I get my bill there are 3 charges for a total of $170. The insurance company paid them $170. So to me, it looked like the insurance company paid all charges. Welcome Dental said the amount due was $89. I called Welcome Dental and was told they did not list the 360 degree xray charges on the bill. When questioned why the $89 "amount due" was not reflected in the charges column, I was told a third party company does their billing and it must have been missed. Weird that it was "missed" in the charges column but they still sent me a bill. I have never been billed for a cleaning in my life. Why would they recommend the 360 degree peripheral xray and not mention that it may not be covered? Then I get into the exam room for my cleaning. The dentist tells me I have 2 cavities. I am 34 years old and have not had a cavity in 20 years. I felt very skeptical so after the appointment I called my normal dentist and scheduled an appointment. My original dentist looked at my teeth and said there were no cavities. Welcome Dental seems like a money grab in my experience. Would not recommend and will never be going there again.

The teeth cleaning and x-Rays were made better by the staff who were transparent and informative. I was shown my x-Rays and explained what was going on with my teeth. Dr. Casella was very welcoming and confident. I already setup my next appointment and he will be my dentist as long as I'm in the area. Huge upside was no up-selling. I had a small issue that they could have easily recommended expensive action for, and Dr. Casella decided it wasn't necessary. It's nice knowing someone cares about your money too.

I came in and met with his awesome office administrators, Noemi and Dawn, and after a brief discussion on my condition, I was scheduled me see Dr Sykora that same afternoon. I was shocked! After a brief introduction and X-ray, my worst fears were confirmed, my front tooth was cracked. Dr Sykora walked me through the potential actions we could take. He took his time to ensure I understood my options and the advantages/disadvantages of each. We jointly decided that an implant would be the best course of action for me. And then, for the second time in a few short hours I was shocked, when Dr Sykora said he could perform the implant surgery in his office right then. After extracting the tooth, a procedure that was complicated by the nature of the crack, Dr Sykora took the time to ensure my jawbone was sufficient for the implant and that the angle, depth, and size of the implant was perfect. And it was. I can't express enough how pleased I am. It stinks losing the tooth, but that's what ultimately led me to Dr Sykora, and for that, I'm thankful. Also, a shout out to Dr Jacob Favino who assisted with the extraction. If you are either new to West Chester or simply not pleased with your current provider, Dr Sykora and his team is your answer!! You won't be disappointed. And Dr Sykora called me about an hour after the procedure check-in and provide additional guidance on pain management. That is the first time in my adult life, and I'm 65, that a dentist has ever called to check in on me. Shock #3.

The quick appt time was where things ended. I completed the 7 pages of online registration and recv the confirmation email. When we arrived they didn't have it and the paper registration was 9 pages, fun times but not that big of a deal. After my child went back I just stayed in the small waiting area. Over the next 30 minutes the waiting room filled up. I was working on my laptop as the dental hygienist suddenly showed up and then in a relatively loud voice announced my child's diagnosis, prognosis, and asked several questions of personal medical history. This was all with 5 to 6 other patients and family members could plainly hear. I'm no HIPAA maniac, but this really put my hackles up. I felt deeply disturbed and embarrassed to have to share such private information with strangers. Then to make another appt I was led into a semi private consultation booth to speak to the receptionist behind the waiting room door. Why is that area not used for consultation? They seriously need to either expand their office space or move to a larger office to afford patients and their caregivers privacy. Then of course I was shocked to find out the follow-up appt would be 6 months out and that was the soonest they have. What are you doing that you have to book that far out? Again bring in a practice partner to share the load or reduce your patient load. Overall the end of what was a standard dental appt was deeply problematic. We will be trying the Thorndale office since the appt is the same time away at this point. Or perhaps we will head back to the Main Line where the staff was far more professional and perfectly versed in healthcare privacy.

I got an implant and the site got infected, and when I went to see the son at this practice, he acted like I was wasting his time, chuckled at me when I told him it was painful and puss was coming out of it. He told me there wasn't a problem. I had to ask him more than once to please look again and see because it was swollen. Had to go somewhere else and it cost me $500 to fix the problem. Asked for reimbursement and he said no. Office staff is amazing, especially Jasmine. Doctors are awful.
