The farmer raises Scottish Highland cows just gorgeous. If you like fiddles and banjos and accordions this is the place. They were no jerks at this Festival. the people were really nice those who run the festival were really nice the farmer and his wife were really nice it was just wonderful wonderful weekend for us. There was music and jamming all night right into the sun coming up. This was the third year of the festival it is usually the first weekend in September and we can't wait to go again. And there was great food . smokers and veggies and all kinds of wonderful things

I recently caught "Imagining Madoff" here, and I was impressed by not only the writing and the acting, but also by the genuine community that supports these productions. I went in with low expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised. But I couldn't help but notice...perhaps it's because we caught the opening night show and only theater patrons were present, but the crowd here at Stageworks is...not young. At 107 years of age, my father was the youngest man in the crowd. My mother was one of several people that fell asleep during the performance, but I suppose that's what happens when you don't have an intermission, and everyone in the audience has been on the same sleep schedule since before electricity. They should've taken advantage of the coffee available pre-show for a $1 donation.* The theater WAS kept at around 55 degrees, probably to try and keep people awake/prevent them from decomposing. The Artistic Director's autistic nephew also lives in the building and gets violent whenever he gets angry. While I was working there, he came out of his room, tried to hit me, and also grabbed me. I was terrified because he's a 6'4" 23 year old man who can easily hurt you if he wanted to. Because he's autistic, he doesn't understand his actions and can go after anyone. I strongly encourage anybody thinking about going there not to if you don't want to take the chance of getting hurt.

If these things aren't necessarily your thing I think you'll still have fun if you like people watching and have curiosity, but likely more of a once in a few years experience. If you purchase tickets before the festival starts, you'll save $1.50 per ticket. Otherwise you'll pay $15 pp. I suggest getting there early if you can to have some breathing room at vendors and within enclosed spaces. Since it's on the fairgrounds, there's a fair amount of walking to be done, and the vendors seem to go on and on. There are so many skeins of yarn don't know how you keep track of it! But if you look, you'll likely find quite a few items to buy. And if you have the energy to explore take a look around before making shopping decisions. There are also demos like sheep herding, a Llama parade, competitions, a museum/blacksmithing, workshops that you have to pay extra for and do sell out, and author signings. If you don't arrive early to the demonstrations though you won't be able to see anything as it got very crowded. They also had some exotic animals like kangaroos and lemurs. I was pleasantly surprised by the number and type of food vendors and not just fried carnival food. We enjoyed the fried Brussels sprouts ($14 for a smallish bowl), fried chicken sandwich ($18), and pierogis (6 for $12) that came in flavors like mushroom and sauerkraut, potatoes and onions, spinach and feta). There weren't a lot of dessert places but there was one place that sold apple cider donuts, Ice cream, and apple pie with ice cream. Some places charged a fee for credit cards but not all. It seemed like you could find seating if you looked for it which was nice. Overall we had a nice time but I was tired of traffic, lines and people by days end.

They offer evening and matinee performances and have a nice outdoor bar and patio where they serve patrons before and during intermission. They offer special events and have meet and greet sessions with the performers who will entertain on the patio before and after some shows. TriArts is kid-friendly as they offer a youth theater as well. The shows typically run from early June to late August as this is predominantly a summer theater. In March they release (on their web site) their upcoming seasons performances. Ya gotta check this place out! You will not be disappointed. See you there.

I don't no if it's bcuz we had warly tickets but my grandson didn't wait long to sit on Santa's lap for a photo. The staff very nice, the hot cocoa hot, all pros......but.....cons for me.....im going to say I enjoy more going to places where it's just a drive thru, mainly bcuz you pay 1 price per car instead of per person which is the case here, not that it was expensive, bit I'd you have a big family& are struggling, the drive thru venues are best suited. The "gift" shops here are the size of a closet, not enjoyable&not able to go through the merchandise without feeling rushed, so I bought nothing. Biggest disappointment was the photo taking of Santa. They hand u a bar coded card to bring to their photo booth to aee&purchase your pics, mind u we took 1 of my grandson alone&one of the famy together, and we got nothing. They were "lost", bar code card scanned nothing, the young man said he would look thru the photos to see if he can find them, of course that was 25min of wasted time. Let me add that this also happened during Halloween at Headless Horsemen(same venue). If it wasn't for my son snapping a pic with his phone, we wouldn't have had one of our lil man.
