I'm a little confused with what I experienced on Thursday's Tapas event I attended. my rating is mostly for the company and the owner than for the actual event. I was invited through a friend of mine that bought the tickets for a group of us. We got there super early (we didnt expect to get there so early) and the tables were set up but of course we were at fault for arriving almost 35 minutes early. The hostess was a hispanic young lady who was super nice and welcoming. she immediately greeted us and told us to sit down and asked the waitress to bring us water. we knew we arrived early. she talked to us about different events that were coming up and asked us where we were from, and was just having a conversation with us. we waited for the event to start. the wine educator also came up to us and put down glasses at our table and said we would be beginning shortly. the restaurant was very cozy and cute and if we lived in the city would definitely be back. however, my review is based on the fact that at 7 pm or a little after the owner appeared to walk in with wine notes and signs and as we would later find out coupons for us to use towards the next event. i don't understand how a business owner of an event planning company can walk in once the event started. On top of that she looked like she had an attitude with the hostess and had a dirty look on her face the entire time. The food did not come out at exactly 7 pm but to me thats not as much of a big deal as the owner acting with grace and professionalism. she seemed to be making a big deal of the food being out and at one point we saw she was reprimanding the hostess for not having the coupons ready when the hostess was cutting them with her hands. how can you have a business and not come prepared with cut coupons? and on top of that have an attitude with your staff who clearly was there before you. the food was great and overall the experience was wonderful. the wines we tried were great. the restaurant kept bringing out food (a little slowly but either way hot) and for the price, well worth it. you normally don't get as much food options and delicious wine for that cost. if i could give the restaurant , staff and event a review it would be 4 stars. the hostess and wine educator were wonderful. however, the company itself and the owner deserve 2 stars. treat your staff with respect. if something bothers you put a game face on and don't make it apparent to ppl who are at your event. read more
