I was referred to the ER after visiting a local Urgent Care. The first person to visit my…read moreexamination room was the billing clerk, that collected $643 before they could proceed. Dr. Jeffrey Francis came into my room, stood at the door, asked a few questions, never came near me, and said he was going to order an EKG. The EKG was performed and bloodwork was drawn. After an hour of sitting in the exam room, the discharge person came into my room with paperwork. What??? I never even saw the doctor again. I was told that HE HAD "LEFT FOR THE DAY". No conversation, no plan, no results of the EKG, no nothing. Remarkably, today, I read the results of my EKG, which were written by Dr. Francis and they state, "Possible Anterior Myocardial Infarction, PROBABLY OLD." So, this states that I possibly had a HEART ATTACK and it was "PROBABLY OLD"??? This is wrong on so many levels. This "Doctor" "Left for the day" without coming back into my room to talk about this or anything else? Another gentleman then did come in and basically said that he was the guy responsible for damage control when things go awry. Not knowing if I may or may not have had a heart attack, this gentleman stated that their purpose at that facility was to make sure that "you don't die within a week or two". That's GREAT! Perfect business model in a lifesaving position - just give them another week or two of life. Upon reading the results of the visit in my chart, the report is filled with lies written by Dr. Francis. The section "Physical Exam" is especially unsettling, as the doctor never touched my body, as he simply talked to me as he stood next to the door. This is shocking and absolutely unacceptable.

St. Joseph's Hospital North ER - 04 February 2026…read more I am writing this review not only as a recent patient, but as a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Medic and former nationally registered paramedic. I have spent a lifetime in emergency medicine. The care I received in this emergency department was, without question, the worst I have personally experienced or witnessed in my professional career. On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, my wife brought me to the ER at St. Joseph's Hospital North in Lutz after I developed severe shortness of breath during a return flight from Wyoming. I had contracted influenza during travel, and by the time we landed, I was experiencing significant respiratory distress, fever, chills, and rigors. We arrived around 5:45 PM. There were only two other patients in the ER at that time, neither appearing to be in acute distress. Check-in was disorganized, as staff were unable to locate my long-standing records despite years of prior care at this facility. Over the next hour, the ER filled with additional patients, yet I observed multiple individuals who arrived after me being triaged ahead of me, despite my visible respiratory compromise. As someone trained in emergency triage, this was difficult to understand. I was eventually sent for a chest X-ray and asked to undress in a cold room while actively shaking with fever and chills. There was no effort to ensure patient comfort during the process. After nearly two hours, I was placed in a treatment room. I waited more than 30 minutes before a nurse briefly entered, did not clearly identify herself or her role, took vitals, drew blood without explanation, and left stating the physician would be in shortly. The room was extremely cold. Despite obvious rigors, no blanket was provided. My wife had to remove her own jacket to place over me. A request to the nurses' station for blankets went unanswered for an extended period. When the physician finally arrived, I was asked to repeat my history. A minimal exam was performed. After he left, I could clearly hear loud, social, and unprofessional behavior from the nurses' station area. Following a shift change, a second nurse entered. After another request for blankets, one was eventually brought -- and handed to my wife without instruction or courtesy. There was no communication about the plan of care, anticipated timeline, or findings. After approximately six hours in the ER, I was diagnosed with Influenza A and discharged with prescriptions for Tamiflu, benzonatate, and albuterol. Discharge was abrupt. IV removal was rushed. EKG leads and monitoring equipment were partially left for us to remove ourselves. No discharge education was provided beyond stating prescriptions would be called in. There was no closing interaction such as, "We hope you feel better." We left shortly after midnight and had to obtain a hotel due to the late hour and my condition. In more than three decades in emergency medicine, I have never experienced such a lack of empathy, communication, professionalism, and basic patient comfort. Emergency departments are busy environments -- I understand that better than most -- but patient dignity and compassion should never be optional. This was my last visit to St. Joseph's Hospital North and to a BayCare facility. In two words: profoundly disappointing.

What a beautiful hospital and campus! This is kind of an odd statement considering that I came here…read moreduring the twilight hours and to the ER, no less. St. Joseph's Hospital - North is located just a bit north of Tampa by Cheval and Lutz, respectively. The hospital is situated at the critical crossroad of Dale Mabry and the 589 Veterans Expressway-Suncoast Parkway/568 off-shoot. This makes it easily accessible from various areas, whilst being fairly free of the Tampa Bay congestion. Parking here is fairly simple, as the lot is rather vast, while the signs make navigating the campus rather intuitive. When it comes to security, the team does a rather spectacular job to ensure that safety and protection of their patients and employees. With both the sheriff departments and security contractors on site, there is very little to worry about. I was directed to self-admit to St. Joseph's Hospital - North after incurring an injury during a work trip. After returning to Tampa, I was able to drive myself to this location with ease. As I entered the ER, I was screened by the security and welcomed by the friendly staff of the ER. The ER area and department was very clean and well maintained. The process of getting admitted was rather smooth, and it wasn't long before a nurse came to take my vitals and enter me into the triage process. I wasn't dying, so I understand the length of time it took before a doctor came to address my injuries. When a doctor did come, she was extremely pleasant and thorough. She provided a preliminary diagnosis and ordered some imaging. The technician was also an expert in her craft, which made the overall experience at the hospital worthy of mention. Great team of professionals to take care of your medical needs and concerns!

PLEASE READ before choosing this clinic!…read more I'm sharing our experience at this walk-in clinic to save other parents the stress and potential danger we faced. My child was seen by Brittany Ortiz, NP, on January 31st, and the lack of professionalism and medical accuracy was deeply concerning. Hygiene Issues: I had to personally ask the NP to put on gloves before she touched my child's open wound--a basic safety protocol that should never be overlooked. Medical Negligence: My child was prescribed respiratory medication for a skin condition. Because of this incorrect treatment, the condition worsened, leading us to the Emergency Room the next day. ER Intervention: The ER physician confirmed the original prescription would never have worked for my child's issue. They immediately started the correct treatment. Misinformation: I was told a recommended soap was "online only," yet I found it on local store shelves immediately after the appointment. As a parent, I trusted this clinic, but the care we received was unacceptable. Please be cautious if your child is scheduled with this provider.

This is an absolutely HORRIBLE office! I highly recommend that you AVOID this office and I would…read morenot be surprised to see this office shut down in the future. I will take some precious time to recount some of the very poor experiences. First, the front office staff can be extremely rude and Dr. Peggy Watson doesn't care. Second, this office is concerned primarily with $$s, not customer service or patient care. Lastly, you cannot trust office staff, as they are unfriendly and focused on dollars primarily. My wife and I identified this office when we moved into the area. We choose it primarily based on proximity but I wish I had reviews before establishing a relationship. This office will set up unnecessary and overly frequent doctors appointments in order to bill insurance. I have never been asked or been made to come to the doctor as frequently as I have had by this office. In one instance, the office refused to refill two maintenance prescriptions that I had been taking for years unless I returned to the office and had blood work done that I already had done three months before. When this occurred, I tried to reason with the staff but eventually became angry. The staff wouldn't allow me to talk to a nurse but said they would get a message to the nurse but my call was never returned. When I called back, the front office staff was dismissive and outright rude. The office essentially held the refill of maintenance medication needed hostage until I came into the office for an appointment. Luckily they had a cancellation and i was able to come into the office the next day. When I came into the office, I saw Dr. Watson herself. She herself was dismissive and at times confrontational about the performance of her staff and excessive appointment scheduling, money making scheme. THhe straw that broke the camel's back is their no show fee. I called the office the day of an appointment (less than the required notification time), but was told by a front office person I could reschedule without being charged the fee. Which I did, but the office did charged the fee nonetheless. When I called back, I was told that the front office staff's notes did not match the story I recounted, so in addition to everything else the staff is dishonest. Their notes matched the narrative they wanted even though it did not actually match the conversation itself. This office will nickel and dime you with unnecessary appointments and labs. The staff is rude and dishonest. They are dismissive of patients and their concerns. Service in the office is lackluster, as you can find yourself waiting when arriving. Expect to be required to show up 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment but not be seen until 15 minutes after your appointment time. Also be prepared to be accosted by many products for sale when you enter the office; remember this office is all about making a buck (and from my experience it comes at the patient's expense). After less than a year, my wife and I decided to find a different healthcare provider. We've gone to Florida Medical in Wesley Chapel. What a world of difference!!!! The staff is friendly; the doctors are great.

She understands nutrition and medicine better than any other doctor I have seen. She is incredibly thorough and will work with you to not only find the cause of your issues, but to treat them correctly. She will not just give you prescription drugs and send you on your way, which is what most of the medical community will do. In a time when doctors are facing so much pressure to see more and more patients while getting paid less, she has no issue sitting in a room with her patients and discussing their concerns for any length of time. if this makes me wait longer in the waiting room, so be it. I'd rather wait 45 minutes to see a doctor knowing that I'll get all the time I need with her than have my doctor churning out appointments left and right. Dr. Watson in interested in giving all of her patients to live a happier, healthier, longer life and her office runs like a well oiled machine. It is unimaginable to me that anyone would have complaints about this office! I highly recommend this office to anyone who can get here.
