I am a current financial manager at a successful used car dealership and having been in the auto business just over 27 years, I have never ever seen this sort of behavior. Last week a customer test drove our 2004 Ford F250 and fell in love. She's a hard-working single parent who qualifies to purchase the vehicle. We sent her information to Equitable Finance located on Curtis and Fairview Avenue here in Boise. It took an incredible 5 days to get an answer from this company . . . 5 days! I was told yesterday at 4 pm that we had an approval but that "Joe" required until this morning to fax the approval deal sheet because they closed at 5:30 and they were extremely busy as "the floodgates were opened" as Joe put it. I said, "not a problem, I'll advise the customer." Today, Joe calls my office at 10:30 stating once again we have an "approval" then immediately states that he jumped the gun a bit and is still waiting for an email which should be arriving within 10 minutes and that Joe would like to call me back in 20 minutes. Of course I agreed and the waiting game began. After waiting for 90 minutes, I asked my boss the owner of the car lot to call Equitable Finance only to learn that not only did they reject the customer but Joe also told my employer that I was lying and that they never use the word approval! Joe, if you can read . . . keep going. Our customer was mistreated shamefully by you and your superiors. Our customer has been told of her rights and how to proceed with you and your type. You're a professional at being unprofessional and karma will certainly visit you very soon . . . and more than once. I was told my down payment would be $500 dollars when I spoke with the girl at the Nampa location, then when I went in they acted blown away and told me it would be at least $2000!!!!! Good ole bait and switch! These people have garbage reviews and I can see why!! read more

After being an equitable finance customer for over 2 years I have learned several things the hard way. One is they are a very unethical company and staff have no problem lying to your face. I had a loan for 6,100 dollars and ended up with a pay-off of over 11,700. They are very rude and disrespectful. We just managed to finally get our loan away from these sharks. I've never dealt with such rude and nasty people, they will call and harass if you are even 1 day late. They have even called me BEFORE. My payment was due, and the guy is always sarcastic and mean on the phone. Threatened to repo our truck when we were only 5 days late on the payment. Worst place I have ever been affiliated with clearly those "companies" above have some sort of ties with equitable , they promised me a warranty for my Audi and when the car shit on me yet again ( easy auto sales) the warranty wouldn't cover one cent of it , so they took my Audi sued me for 5 thousand then sent me to collections for 10 thousand for a grand total of 15 thousand dollars. Not to mention the multiple threats a day I had to change my number , they can shove their company up each and every persons ass that works there . read more

I bought a car through them over 2 years ago and the car was a pile of junk. Then after 2 years of paying them for the car and still owing the same amount that I started with, I said I'm done. Gave them the car back and they told me they would sell it and I'd only owe a portion. Instead they sent it to auction and sold it for a hundred bucks. Which is 150 less than they are charging me for fees on selling it. And still wanting me to pay the balance on the car that I bought the car for, 2 years ago. read more

I got a loan that was supposed to be paid off in three years it has now been over five years and they are still charging me. Finally one of the employees told me that she figured out there was a mistake on their end that meant they were not apply in my payments correctly. Then has the gall to offer me a settlement of $1800 to pay it off. At this point I think I've already paid it off. I'm tired of the harassing phone calls when I'm in constant communication with an employee I don't know why the manager feels it necessary to call me multiple times every day and then threaten legal action for the lack of communication. When all my communication has been through email with the same person that I've been communicating with all along. I would never recommend this company as no one wants to give me information of how to get a hold of someone higher so I can get this resolved. read more

BUYER OR ANYONE BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! This company has no customer service or consideration. Between the rude staff, which is constant not just 1 time incidents, but every single verbal conversion. All the way to just being a money grubbing, penny pinching, wardens who charge you and scam you for all your worth. I totaled my car a few weeks ago, and while I knew I over payed when I first got the vehicle I did not realize that the signed 29% interest rate, actual is 35.4% thus making my $280 dollar payments only applying less then half to my principal. While I was in a hard situation when i bought the car, I assumed the humanity of people, they might feel some sort of willingness to want to make sure everything worked out best in my interest. However with over $2,000 of extra fees, like life insurance not on the vehicle but on myself which I didn't even know.Then when it came time when the insurance company paid for the value of the vehicle I still owed $1400. I tried to negotiate a possible refinance of a lower interest rate, but that is there only interest rate. Nothing lower then 29% and even if I refinanced it would still be the same. In my last attempt to possible resolving the issue, i explained they needed to deduct my life insurance since I wanted to pay it off completely, and it just so happened that out of the 6 times I had spoke with someone about my account in the time frame since my accident. They forget to mention that it just so happens to have expired at the beginning of this month. This above all else is what upsets me, why would you intentionally not tell someone they could have an addition deduction to there account, until after it expired. Why could not one person say "hey it looks like we can take this off too, so your total will be such and such.." Instead they PURPOSEFULLY or maybe everyone there is just incompetent it still doesn't change the fact that they knew, they could have told me. Even if they just tried to ask someone higher then there power hungry office manager, for some leniency or worked even with just 20% more effort to help me out would have been better. I'm a 23 year old girl, who's never missed a payment, works full time and goes to school. I'm not some blob that just produces money out of no where, I actually have feelings, I'm human, I am trying to be positive and better the world. But its companies like this that make you realize that profit above all else is the rule of the land. I will never do business with this company again, and I will make sure everyone knows to stay clear of these horrible people. read more

I have been a customer with equitable for 2 years, I recently moved back too Idaho and needed to get my title transferred from Oregon. I started this process back in May. After a few weeks I heard nothing from them on status of getting everything sent over. So I figure to give them time to do this, and I buy another temp. Then I call them up and I get told that we won't release th e title till it's paid off. I ask how am I going to get it licensed in Idaho then? Mind you the DMV already faxed over a request for title twice now. So I ask for Valerie and get her on the phone. I explain that I need to get this done I only can have one more temp. She promises me that she sees the fax from the DMV. And is mailing it to them now. So I wait and call the DMV if they have found it. DMV has not received it yet. So I call Valerie and she states to call me back, with what she can find out on the status. Never got that call back. Now I call again and she states that the title got lost in the mail and I have to pay 87 dollars for the duplicate title. Nope I'm not paying that because I didn't lose it. She agreed to pay for it and will have it done. So I buy my third temp. I wait and wait. I call Valerie again and get informed that she is no longer with the company. I ask about what is happening with me getting my title transferred too Idaho. I get the first statement again "we don't release the titles to the DMV " so I ask how can I get mine transferred too Idaho. "Oh I see we applied for another title". So I get approved for another temp and my last one. Now this is where Fairview comes in. I explain my situation too Grace and Tracy. Oh you need too fill out this form. Now Grace found my title at the Nampa branch and went too get it. I'm like awesome I'm going too get this finally done and over with. Oh how wrong was I. I asked if there is a way we can get me into a different rig or can they come with me to the DMV to get this switched over too Idaho. Oh yeah just give us a call or find another rig. They've denied both rigs I've found and never gave a call back. But they want payment. Well I want my wasted time back or something for the horrible service this company has put me through. My advice go through team Mazda Subaru for a rig way better than these jokers. read more

I recently just had to get a new transmission for my vehicle from aamco, and while talking payment methods, they informed me they go through equitable finance as far as getting loans and such, so they set a phone call up for me to talk to a employee, from the beginning of the conversation the lady was VERY rude, she hung up on me after asking 3 questions very rudely, so I had to ask the employee at Aamco for the address myself so I could get a ride to the building to finish setting up payments options, instead of sitting down with me for like a hour the most and getting things situated the lady helping me asked me one question then sent me away. Starting a game of phone tag calling every 10-15 minutes with another question, at one point she needed me to come back to the building with a title for a car I'm still making payments on, when Informed of that I was told to bring different paperwork (from my car that's being worked on) right away because she needed the information, I show up not even 5 minutes later and she's not even at the building. She was only suppose to be gone a half hour so I wait, she shows up almost a hour later and I give her the paperwork she asked for only to be told they don't need it anymore and that she would call me to let me know if I was approved for the loan or not, come 5 &6 o'clock I still had not received a phone call back, in fact Aamco had to call and let me know I wasn't approved for the loan the next morning, Long story short I will never do business with equitable finance, everyone in that building is unprofessional, rude and have terrible customer service. They lack a lot of the right way to communicate with customers. read more

Should 9f done my research before going through these crooked joke of a company. I now see why they have a 1 star rating. I have been dealing with these sharks for over 4 yrs. 4 horrible years that is. Noticed every time I made a payment the amount owed never went down. U would think after 4 years the loan woUld be almost paid off. Think again. Every time they have u sign a paper or make a call to u they charge u a 100 bucks. Not a 1 9of these jerks knows what they are doing. One time I got a bill for over 1900 when every payment was made. I finally got to the point that I was sick of dealing with them and told them to come get my vehicles. It took them nearly 5 months to even pick them up. At one point they told me I could well them. So I put them up for sale. 1 sold right away for a 1000. Gave that to them and it wasn't good enough. They even repoed the vehicle from the lady who bought it. Then they sold the thing for 400 bucks. Come on seriously. Do ur home work and stay as far away from these idiots as u can. I get to see them in court this week and can't wait. Not only are they stupid they will harass u and talk to u like ur garbage to them. I have a ton of emails from them that is going to court with me. I will not talk to these loser on the phone only through email. That way there is pro9f to how stupid they are and how m7by they break the laws. read more
