I found Andrea on Yelp when my husband and I bought a house in the Duarte area. I used to ride as a child, and I decided now was the best time to get back into it. Andrea has been nothing short of AMAZING! She is very experienced and knowledgeable, and allows you to move and grow at your own pace. She has been incredibly flexible with my schedule, and she has always been very prompt to reply when I contact her. I love that she allows me to arrive early to take my time to get my horse ready. I never feel rushed when working with her. She is very patient and kind with her teachings. I cannot believe more people do not know about this hidden gem and incredible instructor right here in north Duarte! I am now taking 2 riding lessons a week with Andrea, and I am learning so quickly and having so much fun all at the same time. She really cares about the safety of her horses and riders, and she instills a ton of knowledge upon you about her craft as well. She always makes me feel safe when I am riding, and that was something that was very important to me. Andrea the owner is so nice and, I'm so glad I was brought to this hidden place of peace. I got to finally ride my dream horse for the first time; Friesian horse, his name was Acke German like the owner. I haven't done vaulting in 15 years, this was so much fun, I do yoga so it helped for sure because vaulting is a mix of acrobatics and riding. The place is so peaceful, and this helps a lot to relax and focus. So close from where I live and work, who knew this kind of hidden gem would be found in Duarte! Thank you Andrea. I purchased a Groupon for riding lessons for my 13-year-old niece for her birthday. I called Andrea NUMEROUS times to schedule the riding lessons, but always got voice mail. My messages were never returned. After a month of trying to schedule and a looming expiration, I finally contacted Groupon. Andrea called me the next day....when I was at work. She left me a voice message. I am so bummed that I wasn't able to take that call!! I have since called four times....four more voice messages. None have been returned. I am asking Groupon to return my $$. My niece is so disappointed. We are now looking for somewhere else to go for lessons. Andrea may be a great instructor, but she's not so great when it comes to returning calls. read more

I have now taken my third riding lesson and am so over the moon happy! I had a traumatizing experience with a horse when I was young and since then I have grown anxious around them. Andrea introduces you to the horse in a manner that makes you forget about being scared. I have been taking horseback riding lessons with Andrea over at Equestrian Visions Xtreme for a few months now and have found her to be an excellent instructor. I first learned about her by purchasing one of those Living Social coupons. I enjoyed the experience very much and thought that Andrea was awesome, so I continued to take regular lessons with her. Andrea is very patient and takes the time needed to explain things to you (over and over again if necessary), so that you feel comfortable with what you need to do. She is very meticulous and teaches you the proper way to groom, tack up and ride a horse. I have made great progress thanks to her. Although she will encourage you to advance to the next stage of riding (walking/ turning, trotting/turning, cantering, etc., she will not pressure you to go beyond your skill level, which is very important. Your safety is never compromised. I read another Yelp reviewer that said that they had some trouble getting in touch with Andrea, which I found to be rather humorous because I am able to text Andrea with no problem getting a response from her. She is a busy person and teaches outdoors, not in an office just sitting and waiting by a phone. Fortunately, she does NOT take her cell phone with her during a lesson, and that shows me that she is focused on the time I have paid her to teach me how to ride. We are able to schedule my next lesson (or reschedule as things come up). There are no communication issues. I just think it's funny (and sad) that someone reviews an instructor negatively when they've never even had a lesson with her. I give Andrea a thumbs up! Andrea is training the young horse that I lease, and I have been taking lessons with her for 6 months. I appreciate her style of instruction, as she has a classical approach to dressage that is all for the good of the horse. She is also extremely patient with students!! She is has a lifetime of experience and knowledge, which she is very willing to share if you have questions. Her own horses are lovely, and Vince is an excellent lesson horse for beginning and intermediate students. Andrea also teaches vaulting, which I haven't tried yet but love to watch. Andrea is such a wonderful instructor! She makes it really fun and you learn so much. I would be there every day if I could. In regards to another post, I will say I've never had problems with Andrea getting back to me. She does not take calls during lessons, which I think is very important, keeping the attention on the people that are there, but she has always gotten back to me in a timely manner. read more

Andrea is sort of hard to get in contact with. I had to leave multiple messages before she finally called me.There are lots of people scheduling lessons and so she's really busy teaching. HOWEVER I'm willing to put up with that difficulty because the classes are amazing. The horses are well taken care of, not every place that has horses takes good care of them. I took a horse vaulting lesson and had a great time. Andrea gave instructions and a long-term student would demonstrate what to do. Andrea was very supportive and encouraging, she didn't embarrass people when they made mistakes and she made sure that no one felt pressured to try any stunts that they were uncomfortable with. She took the time to make sure that everyone understood the instructions. The lesson was stress-free and extremely fun. I plan on going back. read more

I have just started with Andrea, but she has been nothing but nice to me. I am a beginning rider, and I feel like she has been very patient and reassuring that I will learn quickly. Scheduling has not been a problem-- I find that the best way to contact her is via text. She always responds and is able to accommodate my scheduling needs.
