The place is a quaint tavern/tea room at the corner of the small shopping center on the Place des Maieurs, with two walls made of windows to let in lots of light and an interior decor that wants to be vintage but mixes in some really modern wall art like a large picture of the Brooklyn Bridge.
The place was mainly frequented by the local retirees during the day, then later on by a couple of families whose parents wanted a quick drink before heading back home. Since I went there on a sunny day, it meant everyone was outside, which left plenty of room for my friends and I to work inside (we were there for a meeting). The hostess was nice and left us alone for as long as we wanted, which was great.
I recommend the thé maison (in which you can put in pieces of fresh fruit as well!) and the crêpes maison as well. Later on (our meeting went on for quite a while), I had the meatballs dish, but though the marinara sauce was very tasty, the meatballs themselves were cold and undercooked in the middle :/ One of my friends also had a little trouble ordering some of the beer, because being more of a small, local place, they didn't stock all of the beers listed on their menu (as most clients didn't order them).
The price for the food was a little steep for what it was as well, but since we occupied their establishment for quite a while, I figure it kind of evens out. Also, note in passing, the restrooms are to be found up a few steep stairs, but beware! For the you enter straight into the men's section (urinal straight ahead) before you get to the "ladies'" section, and unfortunately I didn't notice any lock on the main door (only on the door to the separate toilet), so you may be facing an awkward moment if you're not careful. read more
