Gave me a quote. He went out of his way to find this specific sized water pressure valve. Installed it. I found The Affordable & Licensed Handyman through Yelp because they had great reviews so I was interested to see how much their service fee would be for a simple job when I was looking for a plumber. I needed a license plumber due to home insurance requirement to do this installation or I would've done it myself. They were responsive when I talked to them through Yelp projects. I was shocked with how much I was quoted because it was almost double the price of the automatic shut off valve device I paid for. So I had to confirm that the price that was given to me was just to switch out the bad unit with the new one. They didn't have to do anything else like run new pipes or replace anything else. When I communicated to them that the quote was high, they asked how much did i wanted to pay. I thought they would try to be more reasonable since the name is The Affordable. I give them a range based on the prices from other plumbing company that I reached out to and they couldn't do it which I understand they can set their own prices. Maybe for big projects, they'll give more of a reasonable price which is why they have great reviews on Yelp but just to replace a bad automatic shut off valve with a brand new one, I think it was overprice so I used another plumbing company where they were very reasonable on the price.

Nick, the owner, was great. He was easy to talk to and gave me a couple of suggestions in terms of how to decide on the color. He listened well to my concerns and questions. The guys that did the work were professional and pleasant. They left my house clean every day before they left. I think I got a great value for the job well done. It was good pricing. I'm so pleased with them I would not hesitate to hire them again.

My experience with Lighthouse Painting was extremely disappointing and very different from the positive reviews that convinced me to hire them. Nick, the owner, promised a Wednesday start with three workers, completion by Saturday, and his personal supervision. Only two workers arrived. Despite repeated requests, a third worker was not added until approximately the fourth or fifth day. Nick also assured me the crew would work Saturday, but nobody showed up. Before work began, I specifically instructed Nick that my newly purchased 100-inch TV must not be touched because of its expensive, sensitive mounting brackets. He assured me it would not be moved. A few hours into the job, after going to buy the crew lunch, I discovered they had attempted to move it. The bracket was broken, and the TV was leaning. Nick's response was to offer a $200 credit. I felt there was little accountability for disregarding my instructions. The third-party crew were hardworking men. My criticism is primarily about Nick's management. His promised supervision was missing, and the only times I saw him were when he wanted payment. I repeatedly stepped away from my own business to check the work, confirm the correct paint was being used, and catch mistakes. I even picked up additional paint. I effectively became the project manager I was paying him to be. Nick then postponed our scheduled walkthrough because he needed to take his mother to the airport. Before the rescheduled walkthrough, an unrelated pipe burst caused major water damage. I requested approximately two weeks to handle the emergency and coordinate the walkthrough and remaining payment. He threatened legal action involving my property, and within days I received legal paperwork from him. I experienced zero empathy in his response. I have also found paint on door handles, unsecured outlet covers, poorly finished garage door edges, laundry shutters that do not close properly, and doors and cabinets with apparently inadequate sanding and preparation. Based on my experience, I would never hire Lighthouse Painting again and cannot recommend them. Nick's handling of my project left me 100% convinced that he cares more about collecting money than taking care of his clients. Nick is a very unprofessional business owner and his actions show he cares about money far greater than his clients.
