The same cannot be said about the general patient support experience! There seems to be a real aversion to actually answering phone calls, but instead referring every inquiry to a promised return call back. The "IT" staff instead provides a very faulty and hard to reach platform supposedly occupied by a bot named Klara instead of facilitating calls with a real person. For lack of better, more complimentary terms in describing Klara, I'd have to say the practice bought a faulty system regarding sign-ins and messaging. Klara seems to be a real Klutz in the communication department. Klara and the actual patient service humans denying contact by actual voice contact with staff are seriously harming this otherwise professional practice!

You can sign up for a patient portal, but guess what--you can't send messages on there or actually do anything! Oh but the good news is you can message an AI assistant on their website, which we all know is so helpful and fun. I guess I should've been a dermatologist, because wowzers it must be nice to be paid so handsomely and work 10am-4pm three days a week.

Everyone was friendly, and when it was time to check out, they told me I was all set. They didnt tell me the total or anything, which is my fault for not asking. Anyway. I didn't ask any other questions because I assume it would be the same as every other clinic. Plus they already had my credit card or insurance information on file. Two days later, I was charged $150 for the visit, which is much more than I usually pay for a dermatology appointment + injection. When I checked the claim through my insurance, I saw that they billed over $700 for the whole visit, which is insane. Keep in mind that I was seen by a PA, not a doctor. In addition, my copay for the visit was supposed to be only $35. For reference I saw a dermatologist plus an injection at another clinic ON THE SAME DAY and i was charge $80 dollar for the whole visit and they billed my insurance $200 dollar. So yeah idk how are they charging my insurance extra 500 dollar but this is very crazy. Do not go here!!!!

He told me to just keep using it til the itching stopped. It destroyed my skin. My skin irreparably damaged with thinness, dryness and most of all atrophy-wrinkled, loose skin. I'm embarrassed to show my arms & legs. Be warned.

The office here was efficient and the appointment was thorough. I went to another dermatologist last year at another hospital who was almost mocking that I was in to get checked out. She's like, "you don't use a tanning booth and don't have anything worrisome? Why are you here?" Um. You know, to not get skin cancer and to do preventative care! It was the opposite here where my appointment ran smoothly while also taking any other questions I had. So if she's accepting new patients (no guarantee), I'd highly recommend Dr. Horner. She knows what she's doing and is overall top-notch.

The front desk told other patients the doctor was running an hour behind but not me... I am giving her 4 stars because she is personable, factual and gets it done quick! Every question I had she answered directly and did not hummmhawww like some Derms I have been too. She will point you in the right direction and give you her opinion on what you should do. She will also tell you if she feels comfortable or not removing a mole or doing a certain procedure. The parking garage is a pain in the butt, no one can park between the lines. If you drive a larger vehicle you should just head right up to floor 6/7. This is considered plaza 1 but its in building 3. The nurses were all very friendly and communicative. I have another appointment in May. She is part of St, Lukes Medical Services.

For starters, I recommended this change to their Yelp page, so it should reflect accurately: They are no longer in the confusing medical plazas of St. Luke's, but instead they're at 4400 Broadway Blvd, Suite 400 on the 4th floor, naturally. Don't make the same mistake I did of running late, parking in the wrong garage and high tailing it over to the right spot at the last second! This new space is crisp & clean. Sterile, if I'm honest, but that's a good thing in both the medical world and Covid times. They have all the proper precautions in place like temp. checking, distancing, masking, sanitizer available, etc. Dr. Newland herself was right on time and diagnosed my minor issue in like, two seconds. She also listened when I said I'd rather not take an oral antibiotic (my own personal reasons, focusing on building my microbiome and immunity) and prescribed something else that should work. If I get scheduled with her again I'll be glad to take the appointment, and if she's taking new patients which she appears to be, I'd recommend reaching out.
