To me that just showed how open and unconventional her style is. Rather than try to change it to her liking, she decided to go with the flow and see what the hidden meaning and purpose for it being there was. I really thought that was great. I bought the Groupons online and when we got there I was surprised to learned that Nico's sessions were 30 minutes long and individual. As I waited 30 minutes, I found myself feeling conflicted because there wasn't a spot to sit down that didn't allow me to overhear his tarot reading but instead I had to pace back and forth in the store. Nevertheless, during my own reading, I find myself intellectualizing and unable to focus on the reading perhaps, due to my own strong skepticism of this trade. Moreover, I believe that a lot of what she was reading was based off of a solid understanding of generalizations and intuition of human behaviors and emotions; I felt that this was vindicated through her statement that tarot reading is meant to "validate" what you already feel and believe. As a result, I did not walk away with a new found understanding or great revelation but my partner did like his reading and found it "spot on". Side note, apparently it is custom to tip after the reading, I did not know this.

They also have a nice selection of used books and large selection of new books. The book deals (of the BOGO variety) inspired me to buy a number of books. The bookseller was very kind as I was trying to figure out which books to buy. This was a great stop on the Rochester Book Crawl and I'm glad to have been introduced to this bookstore! I'm sure I'll return if I'm looking to buy more books.

Writers and Books is a wonderful non-profit literacy center dedicated to promoting reading and…read morewriting. They have a book store on site and host workshops, and events with authors in person. The building is quite large and has on site parking with a back lot. I was very excited to learn of a free event with graphic journalist Joe Sacco. The event was free and I found great value in the conversation with Joe Sacco and Daniel Worden. I learned a lot about the authors body of work and felt it was a great evening focused on the arts. I also learned Writers and Books hosts events like this throughout the year and brings authors to the Rochester area to discuss their works. As previously mentioned, The book store had new and used books, including books by the visiting author available to purchase and have signed. I also enjoyed an interactive typewriter display where you can type out a line and add to what others have written before you. A wonderful organization with a worthy cause, I hope to attend more events in the future and visit the bookstore when in the area.

Lovely book store in Fairport. I stopped in on a snowy evening while out running an errand. I was…read morepleasantly surprised to see the store open. The shop is small but does a lot with the space. There are several eye catching displays including a signed by author table and a great children's area. I was looking for two specific books which were not currently available in store. The owner offered to order them for me and would let them know when they arrived by my communication of choice (text) I really enjoyed the cozy vibe and personality on display, including stickers of the owners cat. I purchased a sticker and will be back when my books arrive. Happy to support a small business with heart!

The store is a bit smaller than Pittsford and Webster, however I was pleasantly surprised with the variety and selection they did have. My son was looking for two books that were out of stock and the associate very kindly ordered them for us and they will be delivered in a couple days. I was very impressed by the "spooktober" in store events for October, including a book signing with best selling local author Rachel Harrison. The signing was fun and brought a lot of buzz and excitement to the shop. The staff working were fun to chat with and seemed very enthusiastic about books. I will be keeping my eye on the event calendar as they seem to have a lot going on at this location.
