This was one of my stops on the Rochester Book Crawl, so I might not have otherwise explored this shop. The bookseller was very nice and helpful.

They sell really quality literature on a variety of topics, especially music (fitting, given the nearby Eastman School of Music), and also including religion, fiction, technology and more. There's definitely a theme of rare, old, obscure and intriguing books on all subjects - the main running theme seems to be whatever is genuinely interesting, by any definition. Also, although there's no seating, I do appreciate that the place is not overly stuffed to the brim with books and doesn't feel overwhelming, but rather, pleasantly full of options to peruse and explore. The owner is always very nice; I (at least) once had a great conversation with her. I haven't bought a lot here, but I once purchased a beautiful book of Saul Steinberg's artwork for a relatively good price. It's well worth browsing the shelves here, maybe preceded or followed by a visit to Java's Café on Gibbs. Buy something if you can, and support a local treasure!

I have all these really upset emotions from childhood experiences that shaped my perception of myself as being lacking worth, value and confidence. In adulthood, I did a lot of work to understand what took place and why. I have been able to fully rationalize and understand the psychology and the interpersonal dynamics. Having developed that understanding is great, but it has never HEALED me. The emotional experience and the resulting perceptions of myself are like a sliver or splinter stuck in my skin. I can tell you the story of how the sliver got there. I can rationalize why it splintered off the wood and is lodged in my finger. I can explain why my finger hurts and an infection is forming around the splinter. All that talk is NOTHING. The splinter needs to be extracted. I have concluded that regression hypnosis can extract the splinters and shards of life that lodge themselves in our subconscious.

He was so attentive, thorough and super nice! With that call I changed the cover to a white leatherette and the inside cover material is now a black Japanese Silk with a hint of gold. I've done some pretty demanding projects with Eric and I've reaped the benefits of the incredible work that comes out of it. Eric is a master printer and his knowledge and skill is reason enough to choose Booksmart. As someone who's been working in the Arts for many years I can confidently say that Booksmart has time and again blown me away with their photographic printing and preparation. I'm happy to say they've produced the most spectacular prints I've ever made. Recently, we completed a large project of 55x70" prints that are nothing short of stunning. I mean even tracking down printing that size is difficult let alone the master artisan they have handling the output. This place is a true Oasis of brilliance. Happy to say I'll be printing with them for many years to come, no matter what location I find myself. They are that good. I cannot praise them enough.
