Evan Ledman was our DJ and was able to make a personal connection with my wife and I before/during our wedding. A personal connection is something you want when planning your special event because it is all about what you want for your special day/event. Velocity/Evan was able to do so with ease. Our wedding was easily the hottest day of the year, but you would not be able to guess that while looking at our DJ's (Bob Forseman and Evan Ledman). From the first time my wife and I met with the two of them, we realized that Velocity was going to make our party a real event. Even though dinner was outside in the 100* heat, Evan made sure that we had what we needed to make any sort of toasts or announcements. He assisted with the timing with our caterer (Shoup's) so that everything went as planned. Evan worked with my wife and I so that we were able to keep everything on point with our schedule. Before he did anything, he made sure that we were in the right place and ready for the next thing. All th way to the last song, our event was incredible. The dance floor was constantly packed, and if there was a song that was playing that we did not want to hear, we were able to ask Evan and Bob to skip it, and they made a smooth transition into a new song. The lighting was phenomenal. Needless to say, our wedding was a hit and it was partly because of the planning and dudiligence of Velocity Sound. Highly recommended!!!

Down a winding hallway and up a flight of stairs, the Rat Pak is a medium-large, long rectangular event space featuring two bars offset from the main space, a pretty tin ceiling, hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and a gorgeous view of the courthouse from a wall of windows. For the event I attended, there were string lights strung over the seating and stage area that were very pretty. This would be the perfect place for a wedding reception, quinceañera, or other large party event. Employees were friendly, energetic, and seemed happy to be there. The bartenders at the smaller inner bar were especially friendly. The event I was there for was packed, and the bar line w/ one bartender moved pretty fast I would give 5 stars, but several of the employees (of the venue, not the event I was there for, as they seemed to be affiliated with the owner) were drinking heavily before and while working. one kept trying to get back in the bar line, and kept heckling guests to be allowed to cut in front of them. When he was checking tickets, after the event was already under way so the only people were attendees going to the bar or the bathroom, he was weirdly aggressive and was still drinking while doing it. People had wristbands, so it was 100% unnecessary to interact in this way. (purple dress-shirt, black vest, multicolored tie, short white man... his coworker, a white women in a glittery wrap dress who got up on stage to yell at people about where they were sitting was also drinking, and egged the drunk employee on while he was harassing guests in the bar line) People had wristbands, so it was 100% unnecessary.
