I came here with a friend for a hot yoga class through ClassPass. The space is beautiful and serene. Upon entering, we were happily greeted by the receptionists who explained everything to us since we were newbies to Epic Yoga. The locker room is clean and stocked with any toiletries you may need. Although we brought our own mats, we appreciated the free mat selection they had. We actually opted to use those instead of the ones we brought because our mats weren't meant for yoga. The room for the class was toasty but not too hot. People trickled in minutes before class time, which made the back much too crowded, so the instructor made everyone shift to the front to make space. I definitely thought there were too many people squeezed in the room and felt like I was too close for comfort to the other people in the class. I forgot the instructor's name, but she was clear in her instructions and even gave alternatives and challenges for certain positions. It was good that she asked me first before adjusting my form because not everyone is comfortable with being touched. This was actually my first yoga class ever, and it was better than I had expected. I did not feel like a zen master or completely rejuvenated or anything like that, but I think I definitely strengthened my core and got a good sweat.

Epic is right! This studio is gorgeous, gigantic, and they have a life size cardboard Michael Jackson cutout hanging out in the lounge with hula hoops (see pics). The studio has three rooms for classes; one for yoga, one for heated yoga, and one for yoga barre. There are two large lounge/sitting areas to hang out in and the women's locker room is huge. It has five showers and complimentary lockers. They also have complimentary towels and mats, and they even clean the mats for you. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the classes I took here. Emma's yoga barre classes are a mix of power vinyasa and ballet. I know some people are anti fusion-type classes, but I don't have a problem with them. I think it is a nice change of pace and she moves the class along at a really good tempo. It is much more yoga than ballet. She also teaches a red sun yoga class, which is like Budokon. It's a really good workout and I recommend trying the class if you haven't already. Melissa's yoga barre class is similar to other barre classes I have taken at other studios. She has great energy and is really motivating. Joan teaches a really pleasant yoga class and Sonja's de-stress class was superb. Joan and Sonja were the only teachers that gave me hands on corrections, something that I wish the other teachers did too. I had a fantastic month at Epic, but will not be continuing to take class regularly because the class schedule. Not that Epic has to change their class schedule for me, but some things could be improved. My preferred time to take class during the work week is at 6 and every night they offered only hot yoga at that time. I deplore hot yoga. I always overstretch and get hurt. So I ended up leaving work early to get to a 5:30 class, or staying late and going to a 7:15 class. On the weekends, they don't offer enough classes. They offer three a day and one class on Saturday was cancelled a lot and one class on Sunday is the community class so you can not use your month pass to go (though I am very pleased they offer it). The classes on the weekend were completely packed. Actually a lot of the classes during the week were too. Seems like they had to many groupon-type offers available at once. This studio has a lot going for it though and I will certainly return for classes, just not on a regular basis.

I love the studios, the teachers and the beautiful vibes!!Emma classes are alway great! She takes time to make sure you're comfortable which is great for beginners! Can't wait for the next class!

Makes for pretty great yoga pics too!

Love the classes and the teachers here. One of the best spots in the city, such a good variety of classes. And the space is beautiful.

I was a longtime runner, Barry's Bootcamp, and Cross Fit enthusiast -- all of which destroyed by body and left me injured more than in shape. Lagree Pilates and Solidcore are a full body workout and exactly what I needed. There is zero impact on the joints and each movement is slow and in control. You also majorly get the heartbeat pounding and I find myself a sweaty mess like I did in those other fitness routines. Solidcore's approach isn't always my favorite (the trademark language and constant soundtrack of the instructors). If I had to pick, I prefer Lagree's approach more but hey, I'm just grateful to have this workout in DC.

Expiration policy on classes is VERY short - this means that if you get a VERY EXPENSIVE classpack but say get sick or have to travel, there's zero flexibility to get an extension. Pretty tone deaf given we just went through years of a pandemic. 2. There is NO HUMAN to be found to help with any questions on classes/memberships, you just email some general account and someone with no name sends you boiler plate marketing. 3. VERY EXPENSIVE It all just leaves a very unpleasant taste in your mouth and there are too many other fitness options where you are treated like a human and where you can get a great workout.

I love SC so to me this wasn't necessarily a bad thing but do keep in mind this class pushes you to muscle failure rather than focus fully on Pilates form. I came for a 430 Ariana Grande class and didn't realize they don't really have a "waiting" area since they keep the doors to the room locked. They have one restroom available and then you just leave your shoes out in the open. The studio itself is gorgeous and has such great natural lighting. Check in was easy and my instructor was very helpful in explaining the machine and the class. The class itself was about 80% similar to SC with maybe a little traditional Pilates and some stretching. A hard and good workout but wasn't what I thought it would be but still enjoyed it. The class is around 40-45 minutes so you don't get as long of a class for the money. They didn't play any Ariana Grande which was a bummer since I looked forward to the theme. Overall clean and aesthetic studio but very similar to studios I'm already a member of and with slightly less amenity space, I am not sure which is a better bang for your buck.
