First visit here ever for Superman IMAX. Will never come back. One human staff person checking tickets, everything else automated even self serve and self checkout concessions. The IMAX theater seats were brutally uncomfortable and at 5'4" I almost had trouble getting into them. The theater was also brutally freezing and while I really like loud theater sound, the sound was so loud I thought we were going to have to leave - my ears actually popped (and I'm not an elderly person or anything). The entire experience was just awful - couldn't even buy a beer to make it more tolerable. Only + was that the entire place was spotless. read more

I'd like to update my review from 5 years ago. Loving the upgrades and remodeling of the theater. I personally love the self service for snacks, there is never any line to wait in, however, I have seen older couples struggle trying to figure things out. At least there is someone at the entrance to help them purchase their tickets at the kiosk. I love that I don't have to drive 30-40 minutes to Asheville and appreciate this remodel. read more

Our first time to Epic Theater in Hendersonville since the total makeove. What a great experience, from the friendly employee helping two old people navigate the new automated ticketing device (easy once you have used it), to the beautifully redone theater, to the very comfortable new reclined seating. This theatre is a dump it looks abandoned. The theatre stinks, super dirty and we had to endure the movie twisters with the light on. My husband had to get up and find someone to shut the lights off and missed the beginning of the movie. read more

Today we went to see Jurassic Park: Rebirth at the Epic Theater of Hendersonville. I was so stunned and confused by the new changes in the lobby and the concessions area, that I didn't even notice if there were other refreshment options besides drinks and popcorn. There was a young man there to help us through the process. (Thank God! ) I am 67 and my husband is 70 and we barely knew what to do. I suppose we could get used to the new way of doing the ticketing and concessions but found the self check out emotionally cold. I could have stayed home, made microwave popcorn and had more fun. The worst was the assigned seating. That really sucks and I hope you will do away with it. The house lights were dim when we went in, we couldn't see the seating numbers too well on the edge of the arms. You don't want devices on but yet we had to turn on a phone flashlight so that we could see the seat numbers. The seats were somewhat comfortable. I liked being able to get out of the seats easily and I liked that I could raise my feet and recline but the seats themselves were a little hard to sit on. All of the upset of trying to get tickets and refreshments made the movie less enjoyable. But it was a good movie. read more

The reason I was trying to leave a review is because the Theater allows all of the horror, thriller and mystery movies three showings per day for the customers convenience. The only other two movies playing were family, friendly and conservative. Both of these these had only two showings each instead of three showings, making it very difficult intentionally. Seems to be following a trend in excluding good Christian values! Go Woke Go Broke ! I tried to leave a review and was unable to do so, because the site requires a code which cannot be found. bought tickets to see a movie on a Monday afternoon that had subtitles. once the movie started you couldn't read half, if not more of the subtitles, due to the film not fitting the screen properly. my husband went up twice to say something, was told on the second time the projectionist had quit earlier that day but they would try to fix the screen. was never fixed, got a refund but as we left heard an employee say " it's not a big deal, at least it's working for the most part" and laughing with co workers about it. might not be a big deal to them but it was our anniversary, this movie holds a special place for us, as well as the small child who left crying with their grandparent. I get it, things happen but the flippant behavior is what really ruined the movie. read more

Paid for unlimited refill bucket for the family. When I went back for the third refill which would have made the extra $5 worth the price of paying more for the bucket, there was a line out the door. I discreetly say to the manage "excuse me, can I get a refill?" He says "you have to get in line." Mind you, the line was still there 45 mins later when our movie ended. I try to explain that I'm in a movie but he doesn't hear me out and raises his voice to tell me they are really busy and I'd have to get in line. Frustrated, I start to walk away and then come back and ask if there is a manager on duty, he snaps "I'm the manager." I ask for his name (Ryan) and quickly explain that in the amount of time spent he has spent snapping at me (we are talking literally a 30 second process) he could have refilled the bucket. His response, "If you don't like it get out of his building." I get being busy but you have to have a policy to deal with customers asking for refills during the movie they paid for. If you can't keep up, don't sell refills! Expecting customers to waiting 30 + minutes to get a refill while their movie is playing isn't fair and snapping at them and telling them to get out of your theater is just poor management/training. These are first world problems for sure since it is only popcorn but there is no excuse for this kind of service. You know when it's going to be busy, get proper staffing so your employees aren't put in this position and develope a policy to give refills that doesn't require a customer to wait more than 5 mins. read more

Epic Theatres is a good, clean movie venue with raked seating (YAY!). I went here with a friend and enjoyed the place. The seats are very comfy, there's ample parking. There are concessions, although I rarely buy from movie theatres due to the outrageous prices. Unless you know where it is, it may be a bit hard to find off US Hwy 64. But all in all, this is a good choice for a movie theatre. read more

Hey, I love this theater! I love $6.00 Tuesdays and if you've been to any other theaters lately, you'll notice the ticket prices and concession prices are better here. The movies are the newly released ones, the same ones you'd see at other theaters. Seats are comfortable. I get chilly in there, but it's easy enough to take a jacket or sweater in. Btw, they no longer search women's bags. That stopped a few years ago after complaints. The company does listen to customers. Don't forget to sign up for rewards. You can earn tickets, drinks, popcorn. read more

We went to see Rules Don't Matter. The movie was all right but rather ho-hum. The Epic theater is clean and comfortable. Concession prices are in line with other theaters. The venue is well staffed, with sufficient ticket office agents and concession stand workers. These young people were SO polite and patient. It was refreshing to be treated as if you are valued and appreciated! Our visit was totally enjoyable! read more

It's a little run down. Popcorn is a little bit stale, bathrooms aren't messy but very dirty. Theater rooms feel muggy and seats are old and a bit gross. We got a whole theater room to ourselves the watch the newest Thor. The whole building just has an eerie feeling. read more

Overall it's an okay theater. I wanted to write this today because I just learned they charge now 1yr olds $7.00 for a ticket. It used to be 3 and under were free. Not sure if I'll come back till this theater, I prefer Biltmore theaters anyway, it's clener there and better seating. read more

I went to see a Matinee for the Matrix 4. Was displeased with having the projector not working for a long time past showtime.

Not the best theatre I've ever been to but certainly not the worst either. The place is clean and the service was in line with expectations. The seats are starting to show their age but still comfortable. The sound systems are still in good shape. Ticket prices are reasonable (middle of the road). All in all a nice option in Hendersonville if you're in the mood for a movie! read more

I enjoyed seeing a movie literally by myself. No it's nothing special but you might find an uncrowded affair preferable.

Woot-woot for a movie theater close to Brevard that plays newly released movies. You saved me from the Harry Potter obsessed teenagers that wouldn't shut up until they saw the most recent release. The place wasn't packed. There was plenty of parking. The theater was nice and clean. There was a decent selection of movies playing, including 3-D. There was an overly-priced concession stand (obvious staple to any theater!). Good stuff! read more

Huge disappointment w/mgmt. after pointing out to her 2x today and once a month ago that several theaters are not only not surround sound as advertised, but in the case of #4, the entire right speaker channel is out ! Result, all music and special affects are coming out of the center & left speaker - pretty awkward to sit listening that way for 2 hours. I was as nice as possible and she just sort of waved her hand like she couldn't give a care. So I guess that means false advertising. She mumbled something like " sounds coming from everywhere". Ok but outdated. What makes this theater the WORST is that at the end of the movie (I am talking when the last line is said and before the credits roll)...they turn the lights up full blast. For me, the credits are an intrical part of the movie experience. When I questioned the management about this, she told me it was policy otherwise it would be a danger to the patrons!??? Ok Epic, if that is the case why don't you leave the lights on for the whole movie?...That makes as much sense as your argument. Please take a school trip to another theater....any theater... Each one will and has in my experience waited until the movie was COMPLETELY over before turning the lights on fully. Your logic is as outdated as your theater. read more

Standard over priced tickets and the like but real kicker was all I got at the concession stand was 2 cups of coffee that I had to ask if they sold because it wasn't on the menu, then had to wait for around 5 min until the 2 of the 3 children working there figured out how to work the coffee pot, and after all that the two coffees rang up at $10.50. My mom, whom I was taking to see the first movie she has wanted to see in a very long time ,actually wanted to leave over it. Never again will I go back. read more

Can't meet American Disability Act. The theater is a joke. Hearing impaired folks don't come here. They couldn't figure out how to get the closed caption device programmed. Finally got the device and we get to theater after 25 minutes waiting on them to figure it out and it won't work with Mary Poppins. Take it out and they can't fix. Offer money back for movie and then take our drinks and half eaten popcorn and milk duds vs comping it for their complete and utter fail. Unbelievable. ADA not met at this theater and the attitude about it was to take my 80 year old mothers half-eaten milk duds back. read more

I was in a movie, the movie had been out for a while. I was literally the only person in the movie theater. It was a weekday in the middle of the day. My son was sick and I was texting my ex about him. Whitney, the theater manager, came and told me to put my phone away. I explained what the situation was and was told that I could put it away or leave. I gave her the opportunity to look to see I wasn't attempting to pirate the movie. She declined. She was very rude. I'm sure she's training new employees. It's a shame they will all be trained to treat people in this manner. I only go here because I get cheap tickets on Dealflicks. read more

I didn't have any complaints about this place. The only thing I disliked was that when it got really busy, there was only 2 people handling the food and taking orders. We were lucky that the previews lasted 10 to 15 minutes. Other than that, we enjoyed our movie. read more

Hometown theatre. From someone that lives in the area, Epic shows the same movies with similar seating as the Biltmore Grande about 20 minutes away. The difference? The price. If you are in the Hendersonville area don't bother driving to BG just to pay more $$$. The only difference between these two places are: BG has larger concession stand, same prices if not more. BG has RPX (Regal chains IMAX) where Epic is regular or 3D. There is one smaller theatre that plays the older or less popular titles. The rest at Epic are what you'd find just about anywhere else. read more

I use to love this theatre, despite the over priced popcorn, candy and pop. Two things made me snap today, and me and my family and friends will never go to this theatre again.Today I had the pleasure of getting my bag searched. I'm sorry but if a person is going to be bringing a gun or any other weapon inside, it will not be in a womans tiny handbag. They will have the weapon in their waistband of their pants or strapped to their body somehow. I know what you were really after, but you totally missed your mark, I had 2 bags of sweedish fish, a box of sour patch kids and m&m's, as well as 2 20oz cokes in my jacket.Another thing that happened today I spent nearly 50 bucks on tickets, and 40 bucks on popcorn and exrta drink. you want to charge me an extra dollar for a lid to my popcorn.
