I took it in to a place AAA recommended in downtown LA and explain the issue. They told me I needed a new timing chain along with a whole bunch of other stuff and quotes me $4800 for it. This was preceded with a lot of scare tactics on what will happen if I don't have the work done, which came across as very used car salesman-ish. When I ran the quote through ChatGPT I was told they were charging me dealership pricing for an independent mechanic for that type of work in LA. So I brought the truck here to Speedway where I had Minor worked done before and had a good experience. They told me my bearings need to be replaced and did the work for lesson than a quarter of the price I was quoted at the other mechanic. Work was finished in a day and the truck has been running perfectly since then. Had I spent to 4800 at the place it wouldn't have even resolved the issue, which means I would've had to come out of the pocket even more after the initial work was done. Obviously a truck of this age is gonna have some problems and when they inevitably happen again I will be back here at Speedway to take care of them. The guy asked me if I was the one who had called and I told him yes.He asked what shade I wanted and i told him the lightest one he had available. Another customer then showed up (also a walk in) and the guy walked over and began helping her instead of me despite me being there first and him already having had begun "helping" me. The guy began tinting the other lady's windshield so I pulled up a chair to wait. The lady looked at the guy confused as to why he was cleaning her windshield before stopping him and telling him that she called about her horn going off randomly. He seemed very frantic and disorganized. I then watched as he began watching a youtube tutorial on how to do it and taking her car apart.... 30 minutes into what was supposed to be 20 mins, I began looking for other window tint places in the area and found a place right around the corner who got started on my window tint right away! As soon as I left I was getting phone calls from jc's auto repair but I was already having my car serviced elsewhere. Didn't feel comfortable having my car done here anymore due to the lack of organization, lack of attention, and didn't like the way he stopped helping me (for what would have been a 30 min task) to help another customer who had showed up AFTER me and required a diagnostic and purchase of parts before even being able to begin her service ...... bad experience overall and would not come here or recommend to anyone
