It's always a treat to be able to ride the monorail here and have it advertised it's 50th Anniversary on the side!

The Epcot Monorail only goes back and forth from the Transportation and Ticket Center and Epcot itself. If you are trying to get to The Magic Kingdom or one of the monorail resorts (The Grand Floridian, The Polynesian, or The Contemporary), you'll have to get off the monorail at the T&T Center and hop on another one. Coming into Epcot from the T&T Center gives you a really nice few. The monorail circles around Spaceship Earth and Future World. The is a great opportunity to take some great photos. The monorail at Epcot is also the ONLY one with an elevator for those in wheelchairs. This may not seem like that big of a deal, but the ramps going up to the monorails are very steep. If there's not line, it's not so bad to push someone up. But when there's a long line coming down one of those inclines, it can be pretty difficult to hold a wheelchair still. I've actually inquired at Guest Service about why the other monorails locations don't have elevators and they told me it's because the one at The Magic Kingdom and the T&T Center were built before the ADA Guidelines were put into effect. They said it would require a major shutdown of the monorails to install the elevators and it would really hold up transportation for the guests for quite some time. Anyway.... now you know if you were curious like me. Just like at The Magic Kingdom, the Epcot Monorail gets jammed packed at the end of the night when the Park is closing (after Illuminations). You'll be waiting in a long line and then you'll be placed into one of the monorail cars and packed in like a sardine. So, if you've seen Illuminations before, I highly recommend you get out of the Park before the show starts so you can avoid the mad dash to the monorails. And I'm always going to give the Disney Monorails 5 stars because they are definitely the most fun way to get around on Disney Property!

I guess Disney doesn't make enough money to voter updating the cars. Decor and safety are 1970's style.

It is great - other than the wait at times to board it, especially if the weather is hot and humid!

The transportation and ticket center is the central transportation hub for magic kingdom. If you…read moredrove to Magic Kingdom, then you will end up here. The parking lot of Magic Kingdom is massive! This is my issue with it, its so large, that's fine, but they never have enough trams to pick up people. You end up waiting and then are jammed on the tram. Once you get to the front of the ticket center you have to go through security. This is another issue, they only have one line. There are so many people and one line! It's crazy! The ticket center also has ticket booths, but I would recommend buying your ticket ahead of time. Once you are past security you have three options to get to the parks: you can 1. Take the monorail to Magic Kingdom, 2. Take the Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom or 3. Take the monorail to EPCOT. This is also the spot if you are park hoping from Magic to EPCOT or vice versa. You can also get to the monorail resorts from here. Overall this is fine, you kind of have no option if you drive to Magic Kingdom. Chances are you will go through here at some point. It's fine, its large and has all you need to get to the parks.

The transportation and ticket center is the main hub, it is attached to the parking lot which is giant. Once you get here, you have 3 options. 1. Take the monorail to Magic Kingdom 2. Take the Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom 3. Take the monorail to EPCOT And then on really busy days or when there are issues with the Ferry or Monorail, they have buses to take you to Magic Kingdom. This is fine, there is not much to say about it. You have to come through here when you drive to Magic Kingdom. If you plan on ending the day at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, (park hoping to both), I would suggest parking here. It is easy to hop via the monorail from Magic to EPCOT. You can also purchase tickets here but the lines are long in the morning. I would also recommend getting your tickets before heading to the park. They also have security checkpoint here, so you will go through security, but then when you get to the park you do not have to go through again, you have already done it. The security line can get long, they usually funnel everyone into one line which is slightly annoying. Its so large and so many people, they need to have multiple lines open. My real issue with this place is the parking. The parking lot is so large and the rows are so long. They never have enough trams taking you up to the ticket center. You end up having to wait forever in the morning and then again at night. You can walk but it can potentially be a really long walk depending on where you park. But you will see it if you drive to Magic Kingdom.

The ride is comfortable, considering they are wooden benches, and on a warm day, the breeze is wonderful. The Magic Kingdom Monorail Station is located just outside the entrance to Magic Kingdom. You can't miss it. I think the 12 Mark VI (Mk6) monorail trains look cool. They're sort of retro-futuristic, at least for the time they were rolled out (1989-1991). Interesting Fact: While they look identical, Monorail Peach (which joined the fleet in 2011) has a unique history. It was constructed using the undamaged center cars from the retired Pink and Purple trains following an accident in 2009, with two brand-new cabs built to finish it off. Because it was "reborn" from the parts of two other trains, many Disney fans have nicknamed it the "Phoenix" train. If you want to see if you're on the "Phoenix," look for the peach-colored stripe. As of April 2024, it also features new black deltas (the small triangular accents on the stripe) and a completely refurbished interior with updated black flooring and fresh seat padding. It's one of the sharpest-looking trains in the 2026 fleet. In general, I found the trains to be on time, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The stations were well-marked, and the guest flow was handled efficiently by staff. Finally, the Cast Members who operated the trains and manned the stations were polite and courteous. The Pilots even wave at you as the trains enter the stations. All of this is what you expect from Disney (high standards). Tip: If you're heading to EPCOT, try to get a window seat. The EPCOT line does a full loop around Spaceship Earth and the World Celebration area before pulling into the station. It's a nice elevated view of the park's new gardens and architecture that were completed in 2024.

Seeing the monorail gliding high in the sky just makes me feel so good!…read more The Magic Kingdom Monorail is one of those quintessential Disney experiences that makes you feel like you're really at Walt Disney World. It's not just transportation, it's part of the magic. The sleek, futuristic trains gliding around Seven Seas Lagoon have been an icon of the park since day one, and riding it still feels special no matter how many times you've done it. The system connects the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, the TTC and its massive parking lot, and the deluxe MK resorts (Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian), so it's both incredibly convenient and scenic. There's something so relaxing about sitting by the window, hearing that familiar "Please stand clear of the doors" announcement, and watching the park slowly come into view. Riding through the Contemporary Resort (literally through the building) is still one of the coolest moments at Disney. I'll never tire of that as long as I live. That said, the monorail isn't perfect. It's showing its age a bit, with occasional breakdowns and crowded trains, especially around park opening and closing. If you're visiting during peak hours, you might find yourself packed in like a sardine with a stroller pressed against your leg. And in the rainy and humid summer months, the Florida "swamp stink" is real: that unmistakable smell of wet dog, body odor, and dirty sweat. When it's running smoothly, though, the Monorail is unbeatable. It's relatively fast, air-conditioned, and offers some of the best views of the parks and resorts you can get. I sometimes like riding the long loop from the TTC all the way to Epcot and back. It's not that the roadside and woodsy views are all that great, but it's just fun to glide through the park on your way to the station! I feel like the monorail is a must-do for regulars and a Disney rite of passage. It's retro to be sure, but it's so much more than a simple means of transportation.

This last trip rather than trying to juggle everyone's schedule I looked into Executive Livery to go to the Orlando Airport. That was a great decision that I highly recommend. When I went on the site I was a bit surprised that I needed to enter my contact info and I believe it was a Sunday. But I received a call back within 15 minutes at the most! The whole process was an absolute breeze. I spoke with Jeffrey Kabool, the owner, who discussed itinerary and needs with me. Everything was set up that day for a very reasonable price. I was informed who my driver would be the day before my trip and when he arrived in the compound he asked where I preferred for him to park (below ground or above). Of course he loaded the luggage and the vehicle was stocked , in case I was thirsty. The trip was comfortable and went by quickly. So rather than either trying to get connecting flights and switching planes to get a direct flight into Melbourne Florida, or inconvenience family or friends to have them pick you up or drop you off to or from Orlando, by all means give Executive Livery Service a try.

I can still remember in great detail the first time I saw the monorail going through the Contemporary Resort. I'm giving my age away here, but this was before Epcot. Yes, Magic Kingdom was the only Park at the time. I've been in awe since, and seeing that is what actually began my obsession with Disney. Not the Castle or the Mouse. Nope, it was the monorail making its way through this resort. So now, over 40 years later, this is my special place. I come and sit here quite often (usually at night) to watch the monorail, people watch, and enjoy the views. The views are breathtaking, especially at night as you'll be able to see all the lights - Space Mountain, Eiffel Tower at Epcot, the buildings at the Boardwalk - just to name a few. I can and have literally sat here for hours with my hubby just relaxing and taking it all in. This monorail is like the other monorails on the "resort loop". It's generally not that busy unless it's end of night at Park close. Everyone is trying to leave MK at that time and get back to their resorts or TTC and this thing becomes equivalent to being packed into a sardine can. Just as smelly too because at this time of night, everyone has been in the 100 degree heat of central Florida with no shade all day. Doesn't that sound inviting? LOL With all that being said, my absolute favorite place the monorail stops!
