I had other home improvement priorities, but wrote Bryan a letter thanking him for his time, and that I'd contact him when we were ready for a new roof. Three years later, I called Bryan up and he provided an updated estimate. I got additional bids from other companies, but Bryan had the lowest bid, the quickest availability, and was most willing to explain the process and details of the roof. The bid was $6,500 for a 27-square roof, stripped down to the plywood, new felt, architectural shingles, gutters cleaned, trash removed, and reasonable length on the nails. The materials were delivered the day before the job, and Bryan let me know to keep my driveway clear. On the day of the new roof, a four-person crew showed up at 6:30 am, as scheduled, and got to work. Every crew member stripped the old roof, and every crew member put the new roof on. They took one break for lunch, worked from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, and got the job done in one day. The crew was clean and sober, did not cuss, did not leave trash, played their music at a low enough volume that I couldn't hear it, and everyone worked hard. They were good about cleaning up the mess, including picking up all of the nails. They lost one plastic bottle off the roof, and my dog took it as a trophy, but that was the only mess, and no one was getting the bottle back from the dog, anyway. At the end of the day, I had a new roof, in the colour I wanted, a clean yard, and a good warranty. Bryan came out the next week with the invoice and warranty, and we settled up. I would do business with Bryan's Roofing again.

Then he switched out the concrete tank for a plastic one. Said it was better. Not. He did not level/compact the ground, didn't put in the anti-siphoning value and tried not to install the control panel. Then he charged us more for a cheaper plastic tank. He referred us to his friend, Michael Cross for the required 2-year maintenance contract. When his friend quit, we found out all the things wrong with our system. 168 low water alarms because no value. Excessive settling. Plastic tank so warped the lid won't go on and off anymore. And we found out we paid about $2k more than the going price. Randy won't respond to our calls or letters. And of course by the time his friend quit, it was too late to put in a complaint with the contractor's board. Don't hire either one - Randy Ryan or his friend Michael Cross or Michael's son Chad Cross.
